Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Sales Manager with optics experience, located in Jahra. The Sales Manager will oversee daily sales activities, manage a sales team, develop and execute sales strategies, analyze sales data, and drive customer engagement. The role includes building and maintaining customer relationships, ensuring sales targets are met, and collaborating with the marketing team to optimize strategies.

We are seeking an experienced sales engineering professional who provides technical advice to customers and helps to develop proposals based on customer requirements. Key Responsibilities:

Reporting & Documentation:

Requirements
We are looking for candidates who meet the following minimum requirements:
- 5-7 years of sales experience in the HVAC industry, specifically with chillers and air handling units.
- Proven experience in developing and closing large-scale HVAC projects.
- Strong technical understanding of HVAC systems, particularly chillers, AHUs, and related equipment.
Although not necessary, it would be advantageous if you have:
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and customer relationship management skills.

Global System Integrators (GSI) play a crucial role in Canonical growth plans in the coming 3 years. We are hiring a Partner Sales Director to work closely with Canonical GSI partners throughout their sales cycles and across their sales organizations to facilitate ubuntu based solutions and opportunities, as well as help GSI build long term digital transformation platforms with ubuntu stacks and services.
Reporting to the VP Global Alliances and Channels, the Partner Sales Director will be responsible for building trusted relationships with partners, increasing Canonical market share and attach rate, evangelizing about the partnership and leading all business interactions from engineers to CxO level. They will own the strategy, the sell-to, sell-through and sell-with motions with the GSI and will animate many customer workshops, sales events, public presentations and executive engagements.
The role entails
- Build strategic relationships with partners at levels, and stickiness with Ubuntu technology
- Deep understanding of Linux and cloud software ecosystem, and open source selling models
- Negotiate contracts and commercial business terms
- Deep understanding of partner organizations and sales models, in particular with Global System Integrators
- Work closely with marketing, sales engineering and product management to deliver on targets, objectives and provide a voice of the partner
- Lead executive interlocks between partners and Canonical leadership team
- Ability to travel - sometimes internationally - up to 40% of the time
- Extensive experience in alliance or indirect sales management roles
- Extensive experience with OpenStack, virtualization, containers and other Cloud technologies.
- Autonomous, disciplined, hands-on, get-it-done mentality
- Ability to capture customer requirements, evaluate gaps, identify and create opportunities
- Passionate about Ubuntu products and mission
- Comfortable in fast-paced and high pressure environments with ambitious achievement goals

This position requires strong communication skills and Freight Forwarding operational experience in a fast paced, dynamic Freight-Forwarding Field Sales environment.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Manage Book of Business (BOB) ensuring constant growth in Volume, Revenue and Margin
- Grant constant growth of the BCO composition of the above: Hunting as % of Farming
- Undertake market analysis and competitive research in the local market.
- Liaise with Branch Operations in order to ensure proper SOPs are customized around client needs.
- Assist BOB clients in their day-by-day requests related to export/import quotations/negotiations in order to ensure proper opportunity closing.
- Liaise with internal Network and external Partner Agents in order to guarantee the best possible service assistance to working opportunities.
- Work with the CRM system in order to properly manage personal pipeline and record activity that will be base for Field Sales Incentive Scheme.
- Stay updated about local regulations, industry, new practices and any enhancements.
EXPERIENCE
- Proven track record in sales field, with at least 3 years of recent and relevant sales experience in Freight Forwarding
- Freight Forwarding experience is mandatory.
SKILLS
- Freight Forwarding – Solid and demonstrated working knowledge of the Freight Forwarding Industry.
- Execution Sales Skills – Ability to research, identify, tackle, grow and close business opportunities ensuring the needed support from product and operations.
- Agile Skills - Ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet various deadlines
- Computer Skills - Intermediate computer skills with a proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint
- Communication – Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate with clients, carriers, other forwarders, vendors
- Languages - You speak and write fluent English – additional languages are a bonus, but not a must.
- Valid Kuwait Driving License is Mandatory

The Role:
As the Sales Manager – Modern Trade, you will be responsible for leading and managing customer relationships, driving trade negotiations, and ensuring the highest standards of execution across key accounts.
