The core duties of the pharmacist include:

1. Compounding and dispensing medication as per physicians’ prescriptions.
2. Counseling patients on the proper use of medications and possible side effects.
3. Keeping accurate medication records, including those for controlled substances.
4. Providing advice regarding general health care matters, such as diet, exercise, and stress management.
5. Updating patient medical records with new prescriptions or other information as needed.
6. Reviewing prescriptions for accuracy before dispensing medications.
7. Ordering drugs from approved suppliers as needed.
8. Ensuring that all legal requirements are met when preparing medications for customers.
9. Resolving customer inquiries or complaints in a professional manner.
10. Maintaining current knowledge of pharmaceuticals and their uses, as well as any new developments in the field of pharmacy practice.

The successful candidate should possess:

1. A Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or a related field is required; an advanced degree may be preferred by some employers.
2. Licensure from the Kuwait Pharmacy Board is required to practice pharmacy in Al-Kuwait.
3. Knowledge of computer operations and software related to pharmacy operations is necessary.
4. Excellent customer service skills are essential.
5. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
6. Strong problem-solving capabilities.
