Job Description

The Aviation Life Support Equipment (ALSE) Technician serves as focal point for all logistics and repair functions for all supplied ALSE, first aid kits and Night Vision Devices.

Principal Accountabilities

Inspects and approves completed maintenance actions, solves repair problems by studying drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics, and technical publications.

Inspects, instructs, services and certifies individual and crew equipment

Order, receive and inventory kits and components

Ensure proper fit of crew member clothing

Maintain ALSE and NVD for DoS and DI personnel

Maintain computerized inventories and records to ensure timely and accurate compliance with inspection intervals

Provides instruction to contractor and host nation personnel regarding the proper use and care of equipment

Perform other duties as assigned.

High School diploma or equivalent is required.

One (1) year verifiable experience as an ALSE technician

Must possess a certificate of training as a school trained ALSE Technician

The **AH64 Aircraft Technical Inspector** is responsible for maintaining the Quality Control, Environmental and Safety Programs at the field level in support of assigned aircraft and Support Equipment.
+ Inspect, remove, install, repair, replace, modify, disassemble, reassemble and calibrate complex aircraft mechanical and electromechanical systems in accordance with maintenance manuals, test procedures and other military publications.
+ Perform the receiving, in-process, final quality, flight safety inspections and functional operational tests during organizational, intermediate and depot level maintenance, modification and repair of military tactical aircraft systems or associated components.
+ Approve or reject work accomplished by field team members to ensure compliance with customer specifications, standards and technical data.
+ Review and approve locally developed procedures and solutions to complex repair situations.
+ Perform analysis of defects and interprets quality control rejection and failure trends.
+ Monitor safety, training, and certification requirements.
+ Using checklists, perform daily work site Safety Inspections and Foreign Object Damage Inspections.

Job Description

The

Army Aviation AH-64 Aircraft Mechanic AM-2

performs the full range of military tactical aircraft maintenance and maintains repairs and troubleshoots malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneudraulic, engines, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems. Responsibilities:

Remove and install aircraft subsystem assemblies and components such as engines, rotors, transmissions, mechanical flight controls and their components. Service and lubricate aircraft and subsystems. Safely prepare aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks and services. Perform scheduled inspections and assist in performing special inspections. Perform limited maintenance operational checks and diagnoses and troubleshoots aircraft systems using special tools and test equipment as required. Use and perform operator maintenance on tools, special tools and aircraft ground support equipment. Apply comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as aircraft Technical Manuals, Maintenance Information and Action Messages and all technical guidance provided through government official representatives. Maintain and repair aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components. Apply technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and use required expertise in restoring equipment condition and or operation. Participate in maintenance test flights and operation checks as required. Perform other duties as requested. Minimum Requirements:

Completion of high school or equivalent is required. U.S. military technical school or a specialized training course is desired, certification of education level is required. A Minimum of Three (3) years aviation maintenance experience within the past recent Five (5) years on the

aircraft assigned is Required. OR

with a

Valid FAA A&P

Certificate- Two (2) years of aviation maintenance experience, three (3) years of Rotary wing aircraft experience with Two (2) years of experience within the past recent Five (5) years on the

AH-64

aircraft assigned is Required. A Valid

U.S. Passport

is Required , with 3 years of validity remaining before expiration at the time of hire with minimum 6 blank pages and be able to travel internationally. Able to pass and clear CENTCOM MOD 17 Army Medical for deployment. Ability to obtain PCC for Kuwait Visa. Security Clearance Requirements:

Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Govt Security Clearance

(NAC-I T1)

Public Trust.

US Citizenship is required

to obtain a Security Clearance, and for facility credentials/authorization to work at this work location. Knowledge & Skills:

Thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures and replacement of parts. Broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair. Basic knowledge of electrical theory and a thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers. Working knowledge of technical publications and Logistics Information Systems. Able to prioritize workloads to maintain schedules on assigned projects and may be required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks. Physical Requirements/Working Environment:

Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for extended periods throughout the day. Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands. Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders. May be required to lift heavy objects whose weight may exceed 50 pounds. Must be able to type using a standard keyboard to communicate through e-mail and various software applications. Will handle dirty parts and lubricants. Will be required to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Must be able to pass a Respirator Physical and Fit Test qualification. May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, fork lift, etc. Must be able to lift/push/pull minimum of 50 pounds. May work in maintenance shop or outside. Must be able to work in a shop where the environment is drafty, noisy, and dirty. May be exposed to extreme noise from operating equipment. May be exposed to electrical shock hazards or work near moving mechanical parts or vehicles. May be expected to work in austere environments and all weather conditions.

Actual and recent Aviation Related experience in the repair, modification, maintenance and overhaul of related equipment being serviced and their associated components (APU's, etc).- Inspects and approves completed maintenance actions, solves repair problems by studying drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics, and technical publications.- Uses automated maintenance data systems to monitor maintenance trends, analyze equipment requirements, maintain equipment records, and document maintenance actions, and analyzes, diagnosis, and repairs GSE using conventional and digital multi-meters, voltmeters, ohmmeters, frequency counters, oscilloscopes, circuit card testers, transistor testers, and hand tools.- Maintains external fuel and grounding systems.- Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on GSE - Inspects, tests, and operates GSE to determine equipment serviceability and proper operation.- Services equipment with fuel, oil, water, coolant, hydraulic fluid, refrigerant, and compressed air.- Diagnoses mechanical and electronic circuitry malfunctions using visual and auditory senses, test equipment, and technical publications.- Disassembles and assembles malfunctioning GSE accessories and components.- Removes, disassembles repairs, cleans, treats for corrosion, assembles, and reinstalls GSE components and accessories, stencils and marks GSE in accordance with technical publications, stores, handles, labels, uses, and disposes of hazardous materials and waste in accordance with all state, local, and federal environmental standards and regulations.- Prepares GSE for storage and mobility deployment; and operates, cleans, inspects, and services GSE towing vehicles.- Maintaining vehicle records.- Maintains and updates paper and electronic equipment records.- Provides dispatch service for GSE, including positioning equipment to support aircraft maintenance and flying operations.- Practices good housekeeping, tool control, Foreign Object Damage prevention, and safety at all times.- Perform other qualified duties as requested.

- Knowledge of military publications (including electronic manuals), drawings, blueprints, microfilm, diagrams and schematics is mandatory.
- Knowledge of military and/or company forms required by work assignments.
- Individual must be able to prioritize workloads to maintain schedules on assigned projects and is required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks.
- The incumbent receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician, will occasionally be required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks, and may be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records.
