We’re seeking a skilled Environmental Engineer to join our team in Kuwait , supporting a large-scale government housing initiative. This role focuses on overseeing the environmental engineering aspects of the program.
In this role, you will:
Perform on-site audits to ensure environmental and sustainability compliance, including alignment with green certification standards, sustainable site practices, and client-specific environmental policies.
Manage and approve sustainable materials, conduct inspections, and guide site supervision teams to meet sustainability and environmental requirements.
Prepare detailed reports highlighting any non-compliance issues and support site teams in implementing corrective actions.
Lead the environmental audit process, reporting findings and updates to the Client.
Collaborate with internal teams and review third-party submissions to ensure alignment with client sustainability expectations and local environmental regulations.
Work closely with both KEO and client environmental teams to maintain regulatory adherence.
Draft compliance and progress reports focusing on environmental and material sustainability standards.
A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering (or a related discipline) with 12 years of relevant experience .
Proven background in large-scale infrastructure or housing projects , preferably within consultancy roles in the GCC region.
Familiarity with regional environmental regulations , green building standards, and sustainability frameworks.
Arabic language proficiency is an advantage, as interaction with Arabic-speaking departments will be required.

The Environmental Engineer Senior is responsible for implementing a standardized ESH program, which is Management System based. Performs risk analysis, develops programs that exceed basic regulatory compliance, identifies needed resources (such as personal protective equipment) and budget for resources, identifies required training for employees in various operations, performs and documents training, documents and submits monthly performance metrics, performs ESH inspections, and implements employee reward and recognition program.
Responsibilities
This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.
- Reads and understands regulatory compliance and submits any documentation required to operate under permits (such as air, hazardous waste, and water).
- Communicates (manage-from-the-floor type) with senior management, area supervisors, and regulators to help implement a complete ESH program.
- The Environmental Manager shall execute an Environmental Services Program for LOGCAP V, as well as monitor and inspect military units conducting training exercises in Kuwait.
- Ensuring design projects comply with environmental and health regulations.
- Writing reports on their environmental efforts.
- Consulting and advising management on environmental best practices.
- Collecting and analyzing environmental data.
- Carrying out site assessments to determine environmental impact of commercial activity.
- Performs Job Duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
- BA/BS degree or higher in Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Industrial Safety Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Engineering, Biology, or Geology from an accredited college or university or a Technical certification in Occupational Health,
- Industrial Hygiene, Industrial Safety, Environmental Management or Science.
- Military background and training beneficial.
- Must be able to obtain a Host Country Driver's License
- Must be CAC eligible and/or the ability to obtain a CAC
- Experience:
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in environmental compliance, OSHA compliance, ISO experience, and hazardous waste management and pollution prevention, knowledge of Overseas Environmental Baseline Guidance Document (OEBGD), Department of Defense
- (DoD) environmental regulations, and US Army Safety and Environmental Regulations, including Federal OSHA and EPA regulations.
- Skills:
- Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication (presentation) skills.
- A strong ability to work independently, as a member of a team; and team builder.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point)
- Working Conditions:
- Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, duty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months).
- Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.
- Physical Requirements:
- Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
