Position Description

Person Specification
Qualifications and Education:
- Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education or in a relevant subject area.
- Possesses Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent internationally recognized teaching qualification.
Professional Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in delivering the British National Curriculum or a similar curriculum.
- Prior experience teaching in the Middle East or another international setting is an advantage, though not required.
Teaching and Curriculum Knowledge:
- Strong pedagogical skills, with proven ability to plan, deliver, and assess engaging and effective lessons tailored to students' diverse needs.
- Understanding of differentiation and inclusive practices to support a wide range of student abilities and learning styles.
- Competence in utilizing educational technology to enhance learning, with experience in virtual or blended learning environments as a plus.
Cultural Awareness and Sensitivity:

Safeguarding

For candidates in a school where the line manager is providing a reference, the reference must be countersigned by the Head Teacher or Principal.

What You Offer
The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of the PE English National Curriculum and is able to teach the subject across Key Stages 1, 2, 3 and 4. The successful candidate would reflect upon and adapt practice to raise attainment while instilling confidence and independence into our pupils. The successful candidate would also commit to the successful and after-school swimming programme on offer at GBA.

Essential Requirements
Appropriate Swim Coaching and/or Teaching certification. Expert knowledge of your subject area as evidenced by your passion and CPD for various aquatic activities. Recent UK teaching experience or international experience within a British curriculum-based, BSO-accredited school. Fluent in spoken and written English. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to inspire and build good relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues. A clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and/or police check. Comfortable using Google Workspace (Gmail, shared drives, forms, etc).
Desirable
Swimming teaching experience to lead swimming sessions with PE staff. Familiarity with initiatives such as Philosophy for Children and Growth Mindset. Experience in leading competitive swim teams.
