The VoIP/Video Engineer is a subject matter expert with an in-depth knowledge of voice routing communications in medium to large infrastructure and design. This position requires technical expertise in call and video routing, optimization, call and video flow technology, customer service and QoS as referenced to DoD practices. The VoIP/Video Engineer must also be able to work under intense pressure and varying situational environments to provide customers voice and video call services without interruption. Program: OMDAC-SWACA
This position offers company-paid housing and transportation, a completion bonus and tuition reimbursement program! You must satisfy all host country requirements to legally work in the host country in order to be qualified for this position.
Responsibilities
- Provide an implementation of new, existing, and future VoIP (to include Voice Over Secure Internet Protocol (VoSIP) technology utilizing the current industry best practice implementation to include, but not limited to, Cisco Call Manager and Unified Communications systems.
- Manage and maintain the Tier 1 Cisco Call Managers, Presence, Unity servers, Session Boarder Controllers (SBC), Session Management Edition (SME) and additional equipment, if applicable, on all networks.
- Collaborate with all sections within the Network Operations Centers (NOC) to ensure that VoIP traffic does not interfere with or hinder network data traffic.
- Provides expert technical support for existing and expanding Voice & Video networks, services, system upgrades, and equipment purchases to the customer.
- Monitors and identifies capacity, quality, and performance issues for VoIP traffic to ensure continued, uninterrupted operation of telephony systems.
- Perform regular system maintenance in support of IAVA vulnerabilities and CCRI compliance.
- Executes engineering best practices in network builds, integration, testing, and documentation while adhering to security fundamentals provided by DISA’s Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
- Ensure that all managed technologies are compliant with current DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
- Create and track network issues/requests using the ServiceNow ticketing system.
- Create, update, and maintain detailed network diagrams.
- Additional duties as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications
- Security Clearance: Requires an active Secret Clearance
- Education / Certifications: One-year related experience can be substituted for one year of education if the degree is required. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience preferably in Computer Science or MIS, IS, Engineering or related field.
- This position requires candidates to adhere to DoD M. All candidates are required to maintain at least one (1) baseline certification and one (1) computing environment (CE) certification. Baseline certifications cannot also be used as a Computing Environment (CE) certification.
- IAT Level: IAT II
- Baseline certifications: Cisco CCNP: Security, CompTIA CASP ce, ISACA CISA, ISC2 CISSP (or Associate), GIAC GCED, GIAC GCIH

- Experience: Minimum of five years of experience in administrative, technical work, which demonstrated the ability and aptitudes, required to perform technical, managerial, or analytical work and coordination involving management information systems. The VoIP Engineer should have hands-on experience in VoIP technologies in medium to large environments.
- Skills & Technology Used: Ability to verify that all systems under the direct control of RCC-SWA are properly configured in accordance with Higher Headquarters, Local and DISA STIG configuration policies. Ability to manage asset documentation for accreditation and authorization. Ability to assess networking requirements and provide solutions. Ability to make accurate and independent decisions under pressure. Ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously. Expert ability to troubleshoot infrastructure equipment. Qualification And Experience Requirements- Bachelor’s Degree in a related engineering field or equivalent.
- Experience with Cisco Switches, Routers, and Firewalls (FirePOWER).
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in IT operations roles including on-call.
- The ideal candidate will have experience in complex Network environments supporting fast-paced business operations, working with systems including Cisco, and others.
- Proficiency with Cisco IOS commands, router and switch setups, IOS backup, and recovery.
- Sound knowledge of Routing Protocol Configurations, Standard Access-list, Extended Access-list configuration, Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) concepts, Voice over IP (VoIP), OSI 7 Layer Model, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, TFTP, knowledge of virtual routing forwarding (VRF), along with IPv4 and the subnetting process.
- Familiarity with OSPF and EIGRP, the experience of IP addressing, administrating subnets and various routing models.
- Implementation of HSRP, DHCP, DNS, FTP, TFTP and Syslog.
- Experience of implementing SNMP on various devices.
- The Cisco CCNP is must and the Cisco CCIE is optional.
- Must have Driving License.
