**Designation**: IT Technical Support Officer

**Section/Department**: Information Technology

**Reporting to**: IT Support Team Leader

**Main Duties and Responsibilities/Performance Standards**:

- Provide first-level support for computer software and Clinic technology equipment used.
- Respond to incoming calls requesting technical support assistance and take necessary steps to resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Working knowledge of help desk software, databases, and remote control
- Plan, install, control, and maintained computers, Printers, IP Phones, and IPOS within the hospital.
- Systematically document all requests for technical support assistance including end-user identification information, the nature of the problem, and steps taken to resolve issues.
- Perform regular maintenance of all system software and hardware as per maintenance schedule, etc. to ensure business continuity and minimize system interruptions.
- Develops and provides content for the hospital's internet website.
- Investigate system errors, perform backups, and ensure user accessibility and site performance.
- Ensures safety standards (occupational and patient safety) are complied.
- Ensures quality and patient safety practices are followed.
- Provides or promotes people-centered care.
- Promotes inclusive health by providing equitable and accessible care to patients and families with special needs.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by the Direct Reporting Authority.

**Qualifications, Competences and Skills**

**Education**:Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science / Computer Technology.

**Experience**:2 to 3 years’ experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

**Licensure**:Optional

**Language**: Proficiency in Arabic and English Languages

**Computer Proficiency**:High proficiency with computer software, programs & Hospital operating systems.

**Performance Competencies**:

- Analyzes and troubleshoots any network, server, and workstation hardware and software using logic to solve the problem.
- Plan, organize, and prioritize tasks.
- Establish and maintain a computer maintenance schedule.
- Write system procedures.
- Diagnose system software problems.
- Learn to use new and existing software and hardware.

The Help Desk Technical Tier I Support position will provide information and assistance resources that troubleshoot problems with computers or similar products on the network. This position is part of a pipeline, meaning it's not currently open but may become available in the near future.

  1. Perform laptop imaging and deployment.
  2. Conduct basic IP and network connectivity troubleshooting.
  3. Create and manage user accounts within a Microsoft domain environment.
  4. Add and remove computers from the domain.
  5. Assign users to appropriate groups and apply necessary permissions.
  6. Create and manage Exchange mailboxes.
  7. Diagnose and resolve user email-related issues.
  8. Troubleshoot and configure printers, including mapping shared printers.
  9. Document all support actions and troubleshooting steps for reporting and tracking purposes.
Minimum Qualifications
  1. An Active, in-scope US Government issued Secret clearance (Interim Secret Clearance is acceptable).
  2. Due to the nature of the work and contract requirements, US Citizenship is required.
  3. Must have a minimum of seven (7) years of experience with IT systems.
  4. Must have a minimum of four (4) years in IT customer support.
  5. Must have a minimum of two (2) years experience in a military environment.
  6. Must have one (1) of the following required certifications: A+CE, CCNA-Security, CND, Network+CE, SSCP.
  7. Able to travel to support mission up to 10%.

Associate’s degree in Networking, OR eleven (11) total years of recent specialized experience.

Help Desk Technical Tier I Support personnel perform a wide range of activities in providing information and assistance resources that troubleshoot problems with computers or similar products on the network.

  • Candidate must be prepared to live and work in the country of Kuwait.
  • Must be willing and able to work up to 60 hours per week.
  • Must be willing and able to work all shifts, including nights and weekends.
