ResponsibilitiesThe selected candidate will play a vital role in supporting the 9th Air Force, a key component of the United States Air Force Central Command (AFCENT) overseeing operations in the Middle East. This position provides subject matter expertise to the 9th Air Force Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron, helping ensure base security and critical support services in one of the most dynamic and strategically important regions in the world. The 9 th Air Force serves at other locations such as Al Dhafra AB, UAE; Ali Al Salem AB, Kuwait; Al Mubarak Air Base, Kuwait; Prince Sultan AB (PSAB), Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA); Muwaffaq-Salti AB (MSAB), Jordan; Al Udeid AB, Qatar and in CONUS.
The Contractor Shall
- Manage the Defense Biometrics Identification System. Perform a variety of duties directly related to the development and/or management of the Installation Access Control Program supporting the mission of the major command.
- Manage the Program that extends from the HQ staff level over several echelons to field units, and present very considerable complexities due to their structuring and extensive relationships (functional and financial).
- Analyze a variety of complex and extensive policies, plans, regulations, and other higher-level guidance to determine overall impacts on specific program areas and functions of the Installation Access Control Program.
- Develop guidance, objectives, policies, plans, and procedures regarding the management of the Installation Access Control Program. Review superior, lateral, and subordinate command decisions on and/or interpretation of supplied guidance to assess their impact on the Installation Access Control Program. Perform review and analysis to ensure that resources supplied to subordinate commands are used in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.
- Review and analyze a variety of other types of documents to ensure consistency between and among these and the organization’s functions.
- Perform supply justification, prioritization, and cost guidance for Installation Access Control Program resources funding.
- Serve as subject matter expert on the Installation Access Control Program. Reconcile Installation Access Control Program.
Candidates must have:
- Thorough understanding of USAFCENT Installation Access Control Programs (IACS), goals, and objectives, and understand the interrelationships of individual programs in regards to other programs and functions.
- Skill in formal and informal briefings, negotiations, and training to senior staff members, USAFCENT commanders and end-users of regulations and IACS. Prepare information papers for dissemination throughout the USAFCENT Theater of operations, as needed.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office.
- Three (3) years of experience and knowledge of USAFCENT Installation IACS.
- A current state and Government Driver’s License.
- Active Secret Clearance
All employees must successfully pass all medical screening as required per CENTCOM deployment standards.

Role Summary:
You will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining our server and systems architecture, diagnosing hardware and software issues, and providing technical support to ensure the continuous availability of business systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support users across multiple countries, utilizing local resources.
- Deploy, manage, and maintain Microsoft Exchange, SQL, Collaboration Servers, and Privileged Access Management (PAM) solutions.
- Install, configure, and administer Veritas Enterprise Vault and Back Office Systems (e.g., Advent Sage).
- Handle user account creation, profile setup, and password management.
- Manage open support cases, troubleshoot incidents, and leverage system logs and online resources for problem resolution.
- Plan and execute scheduled maintenance and upgrades, respond to system breakdowns, and diagnose hardware/software faults.
- Repair equipment, replace faulty parts, and test new technologies.
- Collaborate with support vendors to ensure timely resolution and system stability.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in IT or related discipline.
- MCSE, VMware, and/or Virtualization certifications are required; Linux exposure is a plus.
- Certifications in Application Servers (Office 365, MS Exchange, MS SQL, MS SharePoint, MS Dynamics 365 CRM) are preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years (5+ on relevant technologies) experience supporting infrastructure for 300+ users, ideally in a banking environment.
- Strong knowledge of IT best practices, procedures, and policies.
- Hands-on experience with Windows and Linux platforms on VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix, etc.
- Deep understanding of Office 365 and Azure services.
- Proficiency with Directory Services, Group Policies, and Windows 10/11 client management familiarity with security solutions such as DLP, EDR, SIEM.
- Solid background in backup/recovery tools like Veeam, Backup Exec, and PPDM/Data Domain systems.

Service Desk Administrator (IT Help Desk) - Camp Arifjan (Secret Clearance Required) role at Akima

Our Service Desk Administrator provides front-line customer service desk support, responsible for responding to and resolving computer, printer, and network issues. Customers contact the Service desk in-person, by phone, using Remedy and/or by sending emails. This position involves a high degree of quick decision making and detailed task management to ensure all work orders not resolved at the Service Desk are immediately assigned to the appropriate IT groups. Excellent customer service skills are mandatory.
Responsibilities- Primary support and interface with site Information Management Officers (IMO) to ensure all Service Desk resources are utilized in the most efficient manner.
- Assists the IMO with daily functions of computer, network and software management for the site and all users.
- Provides immediate response to all customers who come to the Service Desk. Person-to-person interaction involves troubleshooting, information exchange and help with ticket submission and issues.
- Provides telephone customer support for incoming and follow up calls used for initial troubleshooting.
- May be required to work for 12-hour shifts utilizing Remedy call management software and other tools, to log and manage trouble tickets.
- Must have the technical ability to accurately determine call routing for trouble tickets that cannot be resolved immediately at the Service Desk.
- Troubleshoots Microsoft OS issues on Army Gold Master/Universal Gold Master along with setup and Microsoft Office 2007.
- Troubleshoots all other site authorized software with IMOs and users.
- Creates logon and email accounts using Microsoft Exchange Server and User Manager.
- Manages Network Services with Server Manager, Print Queue Management and CISCO VMPS Administration.
- Works within a small continuous improvement focused team.
- Tracks and documents work performed to allow accurate reporting of all Service Desk activities.
- Completes all tasks and assignments as requested by Supervisors and Management.
- Performs other duties and assignments as required.
- Must be a US citizen with an active Secret clearance, or higher level, security clearance
- High school diploma or GED with at least one (1) year experience in a service desk/help desk environment.
- Prerequisite requirements for State-side applicants: valid U.S. passport, must be able to obtain and maintain an International Driver’s Permit (IDP), valid U.S. driver’s license, and the ability to successfully pass a police clearance check and medical qualifications.
- Prerequisites for in-country applicants: valid U.S. passport, valid International Driver’s Permit (IDP) or Kuwait-issued driver's license, valid U.S. driver’s license, medical qualifications, self-identify current visa sponsor & employer, and a copy of your Civil ID and/or work visa.
- You must be able to meet all health requirements.
- Must be able to pass a detailed medical and dental exam.
- Must be able to complete CONUS Replacement Center (CRC) Training for deployment overseas
- Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
- Demonstrated strong customer service skills are mandatory.
- Excellent interpersonal skills are required.
- Requires candidates to adhere to DoD -M: all candidates are required to maintain at least one baseline certification and one computing environment (CE) certification. Representative certifications may include topics such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP Security, CompTIA Security+, CySA+, and related Microsoft, GIAC, ISACA, ISC2, and other approved CE certifications.
