The **Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs **will serve as a senior member of the Division of Academic Affairs team; the AVPAA provides direction to and managerial oversight of a variety of initiatives designed to positively impact student success, retention, and timely graduation. He/she will supervise all activities, programs, and services related to academic advising and academic support, including academic remedial and skill building programs and testing. The AVPAA will serve as conduct officer for all cases involving violations of academic policies.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Serve as the conduct officer in all cases involving alleged violation of academic policies, including those in the Student Code of Conduct and the Academic Honesty Policy.
- Provide leadership in the planning and development of operations processes as well as the evaluation for the University academic development programs.
- Lead initiatives with University departments, to enhance academic readiness for all students.
- In collaboration with Student Life, implement academic intervention programs designed to identify and enhance the chances of success of students at risk.
- Develop and administer related program budgets; including forecasting funds required for staffing, equipment, materials and supplies; monitor division expenditures.
- Provide training and development initiatives for staff thus ensuring each member's effective contributions to student success.
- Maintain accurate, organized and detailed records and develop/maintain reports as required or assigned for retention purposes.
- Coordinate, implement, and evaluate transition programs for new, transfer, and graduating students.
- Develop and maintain policy and procedure manuals related to unit programs and services.
- Assist in the identification, implementation, and evaluation of technology programs intended to enhance the operations of departments.
- Keep abreast of developments in higher education fields as related to assigned functions.
**Experience and Education**:
- Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution, PhD strongly preferred.
- Significant work experience in the Academic Affairs profession, at least 5 years.
- Three to five years of experience supervising professional level staff.
- Experience with program development and assessment.
- Experience with designing academic systems and programs that support student learning, persistence, and retention.

Job Purpose
The Vice President for Administration serves as a senior executive overseeing the University’s administrative operations, systems, and processes. This includes facilities management, maintenance, security, IT, retail operations, procurement, risk management, and general support services. Reporting to the President and working closely with other senior leaders, this role is responsible for the effective management, strategic planning, and operational execution of all administrative functions that support the University's mission and growth.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a member of the President's executive team, contributing to strategic planning, policy development, and institutional decision-making.
Provide leadership and oversight for key administrative functions, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Direct and coordinate the implementation of the campus master plan, including space utilization studies, sustainability initiatives, deferred maintenance, and capital projects.
Oversee budget development and resource allocation for administrative units, ensuring fiscal responsibility and effective use of resources.
Manage auxiliary services, including retail operations and campus facilities, ensuring alignment with institutional goals.
Supervise and evaluate staff within assigned divisions, fostering a culture of accountability, professional growth, and operational excellence.
Ensure IT infrastructure and technology systems effectively support administrative and academic operations.
Establish and maintain policies and procedures for administrative services, ensuring compliance with regulatory and institutional standards.
Develop and oversee risk management strategies to safeguard University assets, personnel, and operations.
Represent the University in interactions with governmental agencies, industry partners, and professional organizations related to administrative functions.
Monitor industry trends and best practices in higher education administration, applying insights to enhance University operations.

Required Skills and Qualifications
Proven leadership experience in administrative operations, preferably in higher education or a similarly complex institutional environment.
Strong financial and budget management skills, with the ability to allocate resources effectively.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
Strategic problem-solving abilities and the capacity to manage multiple large-scale projects simultaneously.
Familiarity with technology infrastructure and administrative systems in a university setting.
Understanding of facilities planning, maintenance operations, and campus security protocols.
Ability to lead, inspire, and supervise diverse teams in a dynamic work environment.
Strong knowledge of procurement processes, risk management, and compliance requirements.
Experience with sustainability initiatives and campus development planning is preferred.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree required in administration, business, operations management, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
8+ years of progressively responsible leadership experience in higher education administration or a comparable setting.
Experience managing large-scale capital projects and institutional infrastructure improvements.
Demonstrated background in implementing technology-driven administrative solutions.

The Role:
To support the planning and implementation of needed learning & organizational development processes and programs in collaboration with the Human Resources Department functions and other business units. Implement learning and development initiatives within the organization aiming towards leveraging learning & organizational development expertise. Responsible for assessing the organization’s needs and for the design, implementation and evaluation of development activities that support LOD initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify Management/Leadership training needs on an on-going basis through needs assessments, and surveys with Leaders.
- Coordinate with the Talent Management Group Leader and the HR Director to determine the educational programs, services and resources that would best meet training needs.
- Plan and publish a six-month Leadership training calendar covering all leaders training.
- Contribute to the preparation of and approval for the annual leadership training plan.
- Assist in Developing, implementing, monitoring and updating employees’ career development plans in coordination with major stakeholders.
- Assist in defining criteria to identify critical positions in coordination with major stakeholders.
- Assist in selecting and identifying Successors of the critical positions in coordination with major stakeholders.
- Review and analyse performance results for identified Successors and report back to Management.
- Monitor and update succession plans for each Successor.
- Monitor and update the Talent identification process and assessment center.
- Identify training needs for all Talents in line with agreed criteria.
- Monitor talent development programs.
- Manage and assure that Talents follow all approved development plans set for each.
- Assist in all Mobility matters and processes for development of employees.
- Act as a Focal Point of Contact.
- Maintain and file Assignees Records.
- Generate Mobility Reports.
- Monitor all In/ out bound Assignee matters (Pre/On/Post assignment).
- Drive the T&A collection, analysis and verification.
- Contribute to Vendor selection.
- Oversee the building of the training calendar.
- Monitor budget spending, track expenses, initiate cost saving measures and provide needed reports to HR Management.
- Ensure full alignment of T&D processes and procedures with other HR processes.
- Proactively take responsibility for self-improvement by staying well informed of developments, knowledge and innovations in relevant field of expertise.
- Other duties as directed by supervisor or other superiors.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or equivalent and relevant work experience.
Job specific technical Skills:
- 0-1 years of experience in Learning & Talent Management.
- Good understanding of computer/data systems (internal Wataniya Telecom system knowledge is a plus), policies and procedures.
- Good command of both written and verbal English, Arabic would be an advantage.
- Good knowledge of MS Office applications.
- Certified as a trainer is an advantage.
- Skilled in the application and delivery of L&D concepts, theories, and methodologies.
- Interpersonal, organisational, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
