- Serve as Information Assurance Manager (IAM) for assigned area of responsibility.
- Develop security countermeasures to protect sensitive and classified information on computer network.
- Oversee daily operations of automation systems.
- Inspect information technology systems for compliance to security directives.
- Recommend long and short range plans for technology equipment needs.
- Ensure all systems are compliant with Department of Army information technology security standards.
- Ensure customer automation plans/configurations are compatible with the organizations overall technology initiatives.

- This position is designated as Key. This position shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impacting the organization to function effectively.

- Position may be filled as a Term Appointment NTE 13 Months. Term appointments may be extended up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, Term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade in the federal service (GS-11).
- The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined:
