Role in brief

The Network Administrator serves as a technical expert in the area of network administration for complex networks. Investigate and analyze feasibility of network requirements and develops network hardware specifications. Identify and resolve issues that arise with networks and systems.

Your Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement technical design, high level of fine-tuning and recovery procedures for enterprise network systems
  • Serve as a technical expert in the area of network administration for complex networks
  • Investigate and analyze feasibility of network requirements and develop network hardware specifications
  • Identify methods and solutions
  • Install, configure and upgrade network devices like switches, routers, wireless devices and related hardware and software in a LAN/WAN environment
  • Investigate, diagnose, troubleshoot and repair/resolve network, hardware, software and infrastructure
  • Follow instructions from Team Lead/Manager and execute
  • Adopt the PWCT IT security standard
  • Any other related duties / projects assigned by the direct supervisor from time to time to meet the business exigencies

Overview

Job Duties Include But Are Not Limited To The function is responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and maintaining an organization's computer networks and operating systems (Windows + Linux). This function also includes to ensure the availability, performance, and security of network infrastructure while providing technical support to resolve network-related and end-user issues.

Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, and maintain network appliances, including switches, firewalls, and access points.
  • Provide timely and effective technical support to end-users via phone, email, or in-person.
  • Evaluate and propose technical security solutions and technologies by working with vendors and other support teams.
  • Assist with user account management in Windows Active Directory, permissions, and access control.
  • Diagnose and resolve software issues, including desktops, laptops, printers.
  • Maintain accurate records of network configurations, changes, and incidents.
  • Handle the management of mail servers, SAN storage, and load balancers.
  • Manage the VPN and point-to-point connections and coordinate with service providers.
  • Resolve process-related issues to provided services.
  • Manage server backups.
  • Perform regular maintenance, updates, and troubleshooting to ensure network performance and security.
  • Effective communication skills are crucial for interacting with team members and non-technical staff.
  • Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers.
  • Create and manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in Linux.
  • Write and maintain scripts for system maintenance, automation of tasks, and integration of systems.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science.
  • Certification in Networking is required (CCNA and MCSE is an added value).
  • Linux certifications (Red Hat Certified System Administrator) is an added value.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Network admin role.
