**JOB REQUIREMENTS**:
SSHO that meets the requirements of EM 385-1-1 Section 1.

SSHO must ensure that the requirements of 29 CFR 1926.16 are met for the project.

SSHO must have the required training, experience, and qualifications in accordance with EM 385-1-1 Section 01.A.17, and all associated sub-paragraphs.

**JOB DESCRIPTION**:
a. Conduct daily safety and health inspections and maintain a written log which includes area/operation inspected, date of inspection, identified hazards, recommended corrective actions, estimated and actual dates of corrections. Attach safety inspection logs to the Contractors' daily production report.

b. Conduct mishap investigations and complete required accident reports mishaps and near misses.

c. Use and maintain OSHA's Form 300 to log work-related injuries and illnesses occurring on the project site for Prime Contractors and subcontractors, and make them available to the Contracting Officer upon request. Post and maintain the Form 300A on the site Safety Bulletin Board.

d. Maintain applicable safety reference material on the job site.

e. Attend the pre-construction conference, pre-work meetings including preparatory meetings, and periodic in-progress meetings.

f. Review the APP and AHAs for compliance with EM 385-1-1, and approve, sign, implement and enforce them.

g. Establish a Safety and Occupational Health (SOH) Deficiency Tracking System that lists and monitors outstanding deficiencies until resolution.

h. Ensure subcontractor compliance with safety and health requirements.

i. Maintain a list of hazardous chemicals on site and their material Safety Data Sheets (SDS).

j. Maintain a weekly list of high hazard activities involving energy, equipment, excavation, entry into confined space, and elevation, and be prepared to discuss details during QC Meetings.

k. Provide and keep a record of site safety orientation and indoctrination for Contractor employees, subcontractor employees, and site visitors.

h. Conduct safety meetings

**They will have completed**:

- The 30-hour OSHA Construction Industry safety class (maybe web-based training if the student is able to directly ask questions of the instructor by chat/phone), or
- Five (5) years of continuous construction industry safety experience in supervising/ managing general construction (managing safety programs or processes or conducting hazard analyses and developing controls),
- Well versed with Italian construction safety requirements
- previous USACE & NAVFAC experience is a plus but not a must

Requirements

Certifications (NEBOSH, IOSH, ISO 45001, First Aid, CPR, & Basic Firefighting) is preferred.

Previous KOC/KNPC approval is preferred.

2+ years of experience in a similar role.

Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.

Strong report-writing and documentation skills

Willingness to work on-site & remote project locations.

Preferred Candidates: Residing in Fahaheel, Mangaf, or Abu Halifa

Immediate joiners preferred.
