**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Instills a safety-first mentality within respective work areas and a culture that achieves low accident rates and mínimal lost-time injuries.
- Develops/revises Work Instructions (WIs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), for all SH&E elements.
- Coordinates and implements the APS-5 Occupational Safety and Health Program at the site level; identify and mitigate physical and procedural hazards in the workplace, provide or coordinate safety training for employees as required or directed.
- Responsible for incident reporting and investigation, assistance with developing and implementing corrective actions, conducting work area inspections and assessments, waste minimization, pollution prevention and control, and record keeping.
- Follows AMENTUM's injury management guidelines for treating occupational injuries through coordination of local medical facilities and AMENTUM safety leadership.
- Perform root cause analysis and provide guidance to site management toward appropriate corrective actions.
- Reports all incidents within 1 hour of knowledge of the occurrence through the AMENTUM incident reporting system (Industry Safe).
- Coordinate employee's early return to work with treating physician per company policy and guidelines.
- Advise project management on AMENTUM safety management policies, procedures, and directives.
- Conduct and document monthly workplace inspections to identify hazardous conditions and regulatory non-compliance issues.
- Identify required training for employees in various operations, perform and document training.
- Perform all other position related duties as directed.
**Education**:
- Bachelor’s Degree in safety, or related discipline. Work experience may be substituted for educational requirements. Two (2) years of experience is equivalent to a bachelor’s degree.
**Experience**:
- Three (3) years of experience in the Safety, Health and Environmental field, required.
**Specialized Knowledge and Skills**:
- Must have excellent computer, interpersonal, problem solving, and oral and written communication skills.
- Must be customer service focused.
- Must be able to work efficiently alone and as a team member.
- Must be able to exercise discretion and good judgment.
- Must have working knowledge of MS Office programs to include; Word, EXCEL, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook.
**Certification, License & Clearance**:
- Professional certification/accreditation (STS, OHST, SMS, CSP etc.) desired.
- T1 NACI required for all U.S. Citizens.
**Work Environment, Physical Demands & Mental Demands**:
- Ability to perform job duties efficiently and effectively.
- Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.
- Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 Lbs.

The QHSE Manager is responsible for overseeing and implementing quality, health, safety, and environmental standards across the organization. - Advise management on any changes that affect the QHSE management system, ensuring continuous improvement and compliance.
- Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions, where applicable.
- Ensure the implementation of QHSE Management System and ongoing compliance to the standards.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as industrial safety, occupational health, environmental science, or engineering.
- Minimum five to six years of experience in a QHSE position.
- Recognized certifications in safety management, risk assessment, or occupational health.

Versar, Inc. will provide technical services including inspections, assessments, repairs, reports and training for facilities throughout the US Army's Central Command Area of Responsibility primarily including Kuwait, Iraq, Jordan, Qatar, and Syria. Services include electrical inspection and repairs of LIFE / HEALTH / SAFETY (LHS) deficiencies, storage management of Government Property / Contractor Acquired Property (GP/CAP), construction and operations related inspections and assessments. The work will take place at existing US Military and coalition occupied facilities within the CENTCOM AOR.
Position Responsibilities:
Site Safety and Health Officer will operate under the general direction of the TF SAFE Project Manager. The TF SAFE Site Safety Officer will work to ensure that operations, engineering, and electrical inspection/repair activities are conducted in compliance with applicable Federal, Industry, and Client safety regulations. Tasks will include:
- Implement and manage a program safety plan in accordance with EM 385-1-1 Safety and Health Requirements Manual and the TF SAFE Accident Prevention Plan.
- Positively interface between the Client and the Contractor’s project teams and resources.
- Implement accident and loss prevention programs.
- Conduct regular safety audits of sites to prevent incidents.
- Conduct daily safety meetings with on-site personnel (toolbox talks).
- Develop plans, procedures, and programs to meet the specific safety needs of Versar.
- Maintain records of training activities and employee programs, monitoring their effectiveness.
- Maintain records and reporting systems on lost time accidents and property losses.
- Identify loss producing conditions and practices, recommending appropriate corrective action.
- Develop training manuals and training aids for internal use and be able to train employees on fundamentals of the Accident Prevention Program.
- Assist in the creation of Activity Hazard Analysis.
- Support and comply with all components of Accident Prevention Program.
- Investigate and keep record of all incidents, injuries, near misses, etc. and submit proper documentation to the TF SAFE PM.
Experience:
The Site Safety and Health Officer shall have no less than five years of experience managing similar safety programs with 20+ personnel under USACE programs in accordance with EM 385-1-1 Safety and Health Requirements Manual.
- SSHO will be qualified IAW EM 385-1-1, Section 1-3
- Completed the 30-hour OSHA General Industry or construction safety training and
- Completed 24 hours of documented safety training every 3 years.
or
- As an equivalent, formal construction or industry safety and health training covering the subjects of the OSHA 30-hour course and the EM 385-1-1 such as the EM 385-1, 40 hour course.
- SSHO must be a licensed master electrician.
- Candidate must have exceptional computer skills in common business software including email, spreadsheets and document (MS-Outlook, MS-Excel, MS-Project, and MS-Word or equivalent).
- International experience and CENTCOM specific experience is preferred.
Other Information:
- The candidate must have the ability to work under austere conditions in Kuwait and must pass a medical screening physical.
- Lodging location is in Kuwait City or on Camp Arifjan and work location is on Camp Arifjan, Kuwait.
- The candidate must pass a background check and be cleared by the US government before deployment.
- The candidate must possess a valid US Passport with a minimum of 18 months before expiration.
- The work locations are in remote areas of CENTCOM and the quality of life support is moderate.
- Candidates should expect to work six days a week, 12 hours a day.
- Lodging and transportation will be provided by Versar or the US Government. Meals will be provided by the US Government in Dining Facilities.
- The candidate must commit to a one-year employment term in Kuwait. During this term, the candidate will receive two, two-week Rest and Relaxation periods outside of the CENTCOM AOR.
- Standard US wages will be uplifted for remote working conditions, and an elevated work week of 72 hours per week.
- The work location could be changed by the US Government to other nearby countries.
