This role will sit in North Dakota.

Responsibilities include:

  • Planning, designing, and directing engineering projects
  • Mentor others in the transportation market in North Dakota
  • Promote the reputation of the company and increase business by being widely recognized outside the company as a technical expert
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously for NDDOT
  • Review invoicing and personnel assignments
  • Negotiate contracts for both prime and sub roles

Some travel, as well as a valid driver's license and clean driving record will be required.

The successful candidate will have all of the following:

  • A bachelor's degree (or higher) in civil engineering
  • 8 years of relevant work experience
  • A PE license in North Dakota or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire

The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following:

  • NDOT experience
  • Rural and urban roadway design and interchanges
  • Designing roundabouts or diverging diamond intersections
  • Previous experience marketing and attracting clients to win work for the company

What you'll do

  • Management, control, coordination and supervision services as well as assistance for the assigned project inclusive of budget formulation, cost control and quality assurance.
  • Management of support services for supervising and directing engineering, procurement and management of construction contractors appointed by the Client.
  • Management of services for Oil & Gas production activities including start-up and initial operations assistance as well as operational personnel and systems as required by the Client.
  • Reports to the Line Manager and is authorized to deputize for him during his absence with a proven track record of managing multi-projects in general and Design & Engineering and Construction function in particular, in the oil and gas industry.
  • Is responsible for developing the overall strategy for soil remediation in the assigned areas, it includes contracting strategies and management of contractors.
  • Manage and coordinate multidiscipline engineering activities to ensure projects such as FEED (front end engineering design) studies and preparation, ITB (invitation to bid) check estimate preparation, LSTK (lump sum turnkey) tender package preparation are executed in a safe, efficient, cost effective and timely manner.
  • Act as primary technical coordination interface with client to ensure that the client’s expectations are satisfied.
  • Ensure the project conforms to the client’s approved Basis of Design and all applicable regulatory and code requirements.

  • Maintains HSE focus within the team to ensure OHSE requirements included in design and procurement.

Client Relationships

  • Maintains and builds healthy client relationships.
  • Proactively resolves performance, scope and schedule issues with the Client as they arise.

Scope Management

  • Compliance with WPMP (Worley Project Management Plan).
  • Compliance with requirements of the contract.
  • Effective change control process application.
  • Achievement of claims mitigation and claims management if appropriate.

Cost Control

  • Monitors cost aspects of the project within direct control to forecast final costs, identifies trends and takes action to avoid cost overruns.
  • Promotes implementation of VIP (value improving practices) on the assigned project to achieve overall effectiveness of the use of capital on projects.

Quality Management

  • Contributes to compliance with Worley policies and procedures.
  • Strong working knowledge of Worley engineering and procurement systems and procedures.

Team Management

  • Focuses team on achievement of milestones and other key project objectives.
  • Listens to the team, discusses the issues, resolves problems and directs activities to remove roadblocks and achieve objectives.

Design Management

  • Sets clear objectives to the design team, including achieving productivity and budget targets.
  • Ensures design team aware of, and complies with, applicable regulations and codes.
  • Manages inter-discipline interfaces effectively.

As the designated Project Manager you will be responsible for the Project Management of Advance Service Business including Long Term Projects, Service Agreements, Standard Outages and Modification and Upgrade projects related to the SE GS ME PM R UG business, preferably on Gas Turbines, Compressors and Industrial Steam Turbines. This will be according to defined Project Management (PM) standards and customer requirements, and with end to end responsibility for economic results, quality, schedule and EHS.
- Guides Project Management activities for advance Service Business including Long Term Projects, Service Agreements, Standard Outages and Modification and Upgrade projects.
- Definition and management of schedules, budget, risk, change control, opportunity and resource management.
- Resource Management will include the on-time delivery of materials, field service and technical documentation and reports. To ensure that Contractual Obligations are fulfilled.
- Responsible for developing Customer Relationships following the post-sales phase for Advance Service Business including Long Term Projects or Service Agreements. Will meet with Customers and lead Project progress and Technical review meetings.

**Requirements of the Position**
- Typically, 8-10 years of successful experience in related field preferably within Gas Turbines, Compressors and Industrial Steam Turbines in the Power Generation business / Power Plant business
- Successful demonstration of key responsibilities and knowledge as presented above
- Experience of collaboration with Product Lead Centers and Suppliers
- Experience of collaboration with Siemens Regional Companies and / or external Partners
- Experience in technical function areas with commercial experience"

What You'll Do

  • Management, control, coordination and supervision services as well as assistance for the assigned project inclusive of budget formulation, cost control and quality assurance.
  • Management of support services for supervising and directing engineering, procurement and management of construction contractors appointed by the Client.
  • Management of services for Oil & Gas production activities including start-up and initial operations assistance as well as operational personnel and systems as required by the Client.
  • Reports to the Line Manager and is authorized to deputize for him during his absence with a proven track record of managing multi-projects in general and Design & Engineering and Construction function in particular, in the oil and gas industry
  • Is responsible for developing the overall strategy for soil remediation in the assigned areas, it includes contracting strategies and management of contractors.
  • Manage and coordinate multidiscipline engineering activities to ensure projects such as FEED (front end engineering design) studies and preparation, ITB (invitation to bid) check estimate preparation, LSTK (lump sum turnkey) tender package preparation are executed in a safe, efficient, cost effective and timely manner.
  • Act as primary technical coordination interface with client to ensure that the client’s expectations are satisfied.
  • Ensure the project conforms to the client’s approved Basis of Design and all applicable regulatory and code requirements.

What You'll Have

HSE Management

  • Maintains HSE focus within the team to ensure OHSE requirements included in design and procurement.

Client Relationships

  • Maintains and builds healthy client relationships.
  • Proactively resolves performance, scope and schedule issues with the Client as they arises
  • Identifies, documents, communicates and meets the client’s requirements

Scope Management

  • Compliance with WPMP (Worley Project Management Plan)
  • Compliance with requirements of the contract.
  • Effective change control process application.
  • Achievement of claims mitigation and claims management if appropriate.

Cost Control

  • Monitors cost aspects of the project within direct control to forecast final costs, identifies trends and takes action to avoid cost overruns.
  • Promotes implementation of VIP (value improving practices) on the assigned project to achieve overall effectiveness of the use of capital on projects.

Quality Management

  • Contributes to compliance with Worley policies and procedures.
  • Strong working knowledge of Worley engineering and procurement systems and procedures.

Team Management

  • Focuses team on achievement of milestones and other key project objectives.
  • Listens to the team, discusses the issues, resolves problems and directs activities to remove roadblocks and achieve objectives.

Design Management

  • Sets clear objectives to the design team, including achieving productivity and budget targets.
  • Ensures design team aware of, and complies with, applicable regulations and codes.
  • Manages inter-discipline interfaces effectively.

About You

  • You are an individual who is self-motivated, proactive, and works well with a team.
  • You will be seen as the Subject matter specialist for the resolution of issues arising across all areas of the job and be able to clearly explain complex processes that surround the role.
  • We expect you to ensure the integrity of the work scope and that all work is carried-out in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
  • We expect you to mentor of less experienced members of staff including ‘hands on’ approach to the formulation and delivery of training programs for local Kuwaiti personnel.
