Mathematics Foundation Program Instructor (Part-time)

American International University (AIU) is looking for dynamic and engaged full- time faculty member for its Foundation Program. AIU welcomes candidates with a vision of excellence in instruction and a commitment to students’ academic success.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides face-to-face instructions to AIU students.
• Plans, prepares lessons to assigned preparatory math courses.
• Maintains accurate grade and attendance
• Collaborates with course coordinators to ensure course objectives are being met.
  
  

• Delivers well-planned creative and engaging lessons.
• Selects and uses a range of different learning resources and teaching styles, appropriate to subject and topic.
• Participates in the development of the course curriculum and the production of high-quality teaching and learning resources.
• Commits to create and maintain a positive, engaging learning environment that is conducive to success for all students.
• Promptness and accuracy on maintaining records of student achievements and reporting results of student assessments in accordance with AIU practices and in compliance with the record management system requirements.
• Has the ability to handle a fast-paced, and high-volume work
• Uses and updates the required course management
• Supports department assessment
• Contributes to academic planning and strategic development.
• Meets deadlines and performs efficiently any role that is associated with the teaching.
• Participate in other job-related duties and activities related to the position as assigned, including but not limited to department meetings and office hours.
• Has excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  
  

• Master’s degree in Mathematics, or closely related field.
• Experience in developing course material as per accreditation and international standards.
• Ability to integrate and use technology to enhance teaching and facilitate communication.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

English Language Instructors – Foundation Skills Program

The Australian College of Kuwait seeks successful and experienced English Language Instructors to start immediately, to join its English Language and Foundation Skills Programme. The positions are principally required for the delivery and assessment of English language subjects, and may also include Study Skills, Report Writing, and Personal Development Skills. The positions report to the Head of Foundation English.

Essential criteria:

1. Masters Degree in relevant discipline, preferably in areas of Applied Linguistics, Adult Literacy or TESOL
2. Professional certification in teaching English language such as CELTA Grade B or above, TESOL, TEFL or other relevant certification
3. Minimum of 5 years relevant adult teaching experience, preferably within a variety of international settings and/or with Arab learners
4. Information Technology (IT) skills – Microsoft Office Suite
5. Native English-Language speaker

Desirable criteria:

1. Professional certification in teaching, such as PGCE or QTS (UK)
2. Bachelors degree related to Education
3. Previous experience in teaching business or engineering English
4. Experience of teaching writing / in a writing center preferable

Position Overview:
American International University (AIU) is seeking a forward-thinking and collaborative Director of Academic Curriculum and Program Development to lead efforts in instructional quality and curriculum advancement across all schools. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in higher education and a proven ability to guide academic programs in both general education and specialized disciplines, including complex and technical fields such as engineering, computing, business, design, and biotechnology. Candidates without higher education experience will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee curriculum development, review, and alignment across academic departments and schools.
• Partner with faculty to enhance course design, learning outcomes, and assessment strategies.
• Promote best practices in teaching, instructional innovation, and academic program design.
• Guide the development, approval, and revision of academic programs and courses.
• Ensure consistency and quality in curriculum delivery across disciplines.
• Design and deliver faculty professional development related to curriculum and instruction.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement in academic content and pedagogy.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction or a closely related field; doctorate preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of curriculum development and academic leadership experience at the university level.
• Proven ability to manage academic programs in a variety of disciplines, including technical and professional fields.
• Strong understanding of instructional design, pedagogy, and program evaluation.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
• International or multicultural academic experience is preferred.
