Job Description

Position Title: Emerging Payments Product Specialist

Location: Kuwait

Employment Type: Full-time

We are partnering with a top-tier bank in Kuwait to support the strategic buildout of its Emerging Payments function under the Consumer Banking Group. This is a foundational role within the Cards Department, with the selected candidate expected to play a critical part in structuring and scaling the bank’s digital and emerging payments ecosystem.

As the first hire into this newly formed unit, the ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of payments and digital wallet ecosystems, experience in banking or fintech products, and the ability to drive cross-functional collaboration while navigating a fast-moving and evolving business landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a key contributor in shaping the emerging payments strategy across consumer, commercial, and SME banking segments.
  • Track and report on KPIs and financial outcomes generated from digital payments activity, identifying opportunities for growth, optimisation, and new revenue streams.
  • Analyse end-to-end payment flows across the bank (consumer and commercial) to extract insights and guide product development.
  • Collaborate with Digital Product, Sales, and Marketing teams to launch and optimise payment offerings and services.
  • Coordinate the development and deployment of proof of concepts (POCs) and payment solutions in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Stay informed of market trends, global developments, and innovations in the payments space, including wallets, remittances, transfers, and fintech partnerships.
  • Support the design of internal processes and operational models that ensure scalable growth and regulatory compliance.
  • Draft and refine business requirements, use cases, and implementation plans for new payment initiatives.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams across Digital, Legal, Operations, and Finance to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Act as a service and customer experience champion for digital payment channels.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 5–6 years of experience in payments, product management, or digital banking.
  • Background in banking or fintech with deep knowledge of payment systems, wallets, remittances, and transfer mechanisms.
  • Strong analytical mindset, able to interpret complex data sets to derive actionable insights and drive decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Comfortable working in cross-functional environments, often with limited existing documentation or structure.
  • Technically proficient with strong understanding of payment products and platforms.
  • Familiar with Kuwaiti banking products and local market landscape is highly desirable.
  • Highly self-driven and adaptable, capable of building from scratch and contributing to a growing department.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of marketing and product experience.
  • 1+ year supervisory and coaching experience required but not mandatory.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong project management, pricing strategy, CVM, and product lifecycle management skills.
  • Strong leadership and comfortable around higher management.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills.
