Job Description

Job Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the Pre-sales and Tendering team.
  • Oversee and manage presales and tendering activities.
  • Organize the preparation of the RFI/RFP.
  • Prepare RFI/RFP response document for approval.
  • Prepare tender review information to ensure methodology, pricing, and margin contingency are adequately adhered to.
  • Prepare technical & commercial bids as per the tender requirements.
  • Support the Sales manager in market intelligence and analysis of pipeline.
  • Follow up on potential client requirements by participating in pre-sales meetings with the client and partners to identify and document their needs.
  • Prepare necessary client presentations and site visits.
  • Follow up and monitor the progress of tenders to ensure response and submission of administrative files in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Prepare materials for client presentations, demonstrations, and bid management documents.
  • Produce and edit proposals from a techno-commercial perspective including software, workflow, diagrams and charts, work plan, project staffing, etc.
  • Ensure accuracy of the terms and conditions placed on contracts to minimize risk.
  • Perform any other related job duties as requested by the direct supervisor.
Qualifications:
  • Extra Low Voltage Systems knowledge and past experience (Automation, Access Control, CCTV, Time Attendance, ANPR, Structured Cabling, etc.)
  • Speed and efficiency of tender analyses and internal department engagements.
  • At least Ten (10) years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent.

Job Summary

The Pre-Sales Engineer plays a crucial role in the sales cycle by providing technical expertise and consultation on storage, hardware infrastructure, networking, and security solutions. This role involves working closely with customers, understanding their requirements, and designing tailored enterprise solutions that align with business needs. The engineer collaborates with sales teams, vendors, and partners to ensure that proposed solutions are viable, scalable, and secure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Consultation & Solution Design:
  • Work with customers to gather technical requirements for storage, hardware, networking, and security solutions.
  • Design and propose infrastructure solutions, including storage systems, servers, network architecture, and security frameworks.
  • Assist in preparing detailed technical proposals, BOMs (Bill of Materials), solution architecture, and sizing.
  • Ensure compatibility between various hardware, networking, and security components to create an optimal IT infrastructure.
  • Work with vendors and distributors to provide the best pricing and support for solutions.
  • Pre-Sales Activities & Customer Engagement:
  • Conduct technical presentations, product demonstrations, and Proof-of-Concepts (PoCs) to showcase proposed solutions.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, addressing customer concerns and providing insights into storage, hardware, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Assist in responding to RFIs, RFPs, and tenders, ensuring that proposed solutions meet compliance and technical standards.
  • Work with the sales team to position solutions effectively and develop competitive strategies.
  • Collaboration with Sales, Product, and Technical Teams:
  • Work alongside sales representatives to support deal closure and technical discussions.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends in data storage, enterprise hardware, networking, cybersecurity, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with technology partners such as NetApp, Dell EMC, HPE, Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Pure Storage, and Commvault.
  • Identify cross-selling and up-selling opportunities based on customer infrastructure needs.
  • Technical Documentation & Training:
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, white papers, and solution briefs.
  • Provide training to customers and internal sales teams on new technologies and best practices in storage, networking, and security.
  • Post-Sales Support & Handover:
  • Work with deployment and support teams to ensure smooth project implementation.
  • Assist in troubleshooting customer concerns and provide Level 1 or Level 2 technical support when necessary.
  • Conduct post-sales reviews to ensure customer satisfaction and explore future expansion opportunities.

Technical Skills

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Storage Solutions: Understanding of SAN, NAS, DAS, RAID, Object Storage, Backup & Recovery, and Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI).
  • Enterprise Hardware: Experience with servers, storage arrays, high-performance computing, and virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix, etc.).
  • Networking Technologies: Strong knowledge of network switching, routing, SDN, VLANs, VPNs, and data center network design.
  • Security Frameworks: Familiarity with firewalls, Zero Trust, IAM, SIEM, encryption, endpoint security, and compliance requirements.
  • Cloud & Hybrid Solutions: Understanding of AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and hybrid cloud storage architectures.
  • Automation & Scripting (Preferred): Knowledge of Ansible, Python, or PowerShell for automating infrastructure management.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a pre-sales, technical consulting, or solutions engineering role. Local KSA market experience will be considered as plus

Industry Certifications (Preferred)

  • Storage: NetApp NCDA, Dell EMC Storage, HPE Storage, Pure Storage, Commvault.

Responsibilities:

  • Sell the company’s products and services to current and potential customers, with the ability to articulate the products and services, to both operational and technical personnel.
  • Plan and arrange to meet customers at their office/yard locations on a regular basis, being the field sales personnel
  • Understand the needs of supply, manufacturing, service, and inventory/stocking, for oil and gas companies.
  • For all repair and service jobs, the scope needs to be identified, well clarified, compiled and communicated based on customer requirement to the estimation and operation team, thus putting forth a clear proposal for client review.
  • Liaise between the design, estimation, and operations team to conclude a suitable solution for a manufactured/fabricated item as per customer needs
  • Support internal sales and estimation activities as required.
  • Following up with customers for enquiries, prospects, orders etc. through regular face-to-face meetings, calls, or emails.
  • Act as a bridge between the customer and the company to provide solutions including but not limited to technical, order execution, vendor registration, payment follow up and so on.
  • Introduction and development of new upstream technologies/products in Kuwait market and consistently enhance revenue by formulating strategies and plans to achieve the business targets.
  • Assist in the establishment of sales forecasts and budgets, evaluation of competition, development of pricing strategies and the evaluation of market share and growth.
  • Manage existing customer accounts and develop new customer accounts.
  • Prepare sales action plans/strategies, schedule sales activity and maintain customer database.
  • Responsible for meeting or exceeding assigned annual targets by promoting and selling products in assigned territory in compliance with the Company's pricing policies.
  • Create frequent reviews and reports with sales and financial data along with competition and market condition reports.
  • Collaborate with Team for continuous improvement and to achieve better results/performance.

Education and Experience:

  • Master’s/Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Petroleum/Industrial Engineering.
  • 10 plus years of experience in the oil and gas industry, technical sales, and preferably having experience with an oil field supply/services company in GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council).
  • Knowledge of Kuwait and GCC market.
  • Mandarin and English speaking is a MUST

  2. Proven track record selling UPS and Generators
  3. Ability to forge strong, long-lasting relationships with senior executives
  4. Ability to creatively explain and present complex concepts in an easy to understand manner
  5. Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in UPS and Generators
  6. Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
  7. Excellent presentation and creativity skills
  8. Willingness to travel
