  1. Teaching up to 30 children with a variety of strengths and weaknesses in a self-contained classroom.
  2. Help the child develop and maintain an optimum level of health and well-being.
  3. Provide opportunities for the child to enhance his/her level of physical growth and development.
  4. Help the child develop effective body management, useful physical skills, and the transfer of these skills from one progression to the next.
  5. Help the child understand the concepts relating to effective and efficient movement; acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to maintain an active lifestyle.
  6. Develop positive personal and social development by promoting fair play, working together, and tolerance of individual differences.
  7. Provide opportunities for every child to develop a positive self-image.
  8. Preparing weekly lesson plans in a timely manner, submitting unit plans before each quarter and long-term plans in March to the Principal.
  9. Undertake supervision duties as directed by the Principal.
  10. Maintain professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the school as well as monthly school meetings and team meetings and in self-selected professional growth activities.
  11. Support other members of the teaching team during short leaves of absence.
