The Role We are seeking an experienced and technically proficient Buildings Engineer – MEP to support an Infrastructure & Buildings project, based in Kuwait, which we are currently bidding as part of an Expression of Interest (EOI). This role involves technical supervision, coordination, and quality assurance of all MEP systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications, international codes, and health and safety standards. The Buildings Engineer – MEP will collaborate with project stakeholders to oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of systems such as HVAC, electrical, fire protection, lighting, water supply, drainage, and building automation systems.
Key Responsibilities- Review MEP designs, drawings, and specifications to ensure alignment with project requirements and best practices.
- Monitor MEP construction activities on-site to confirm adherence to approved plans, schedules, and quality standards.
- Evaluate and provide feedback on contractor submittals, including shop drawings, method statements, and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
- Coordinate and witness inspections and testing of MEP systems during construction and commissioning phases.
- Identify, track, and resolve technical issues or interface conflicts between disciplines.
- Ensure all MEP installations comply with relevant codes and regulations (e.g., NEC, ASHRAE, NFPA).
- Support system commissioning, snagging, and final handover documentation processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related field).
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in a PMC or multidisciplinary consulting environment.
- Hands-on experience with MEP systems in commercial, industrial, or mixed-use building projects.
- Familiarity with international MEP standards, local authority requirements, and permitting processes.
- Proven track record in supervising installation and commissioning of MEP works.
- Port-related infrastructure experience is preferable and will be considered an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Ability to review, interpret, and coordinate complex MEP layouts and multi-discipline drawings.

The Hard Services Engineer is responsible for managing, supervising, and maintaining all technical and engineering aspects of the Bank’s facilities. This includes oversight of MEP systems (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing), low-voltage systems (CCTV, access control, fire alarm, etc.), HVAC operations, and follow-up on contractors’ works.
