GDIT has an immediate career opportunity for a Field Service Technician with Blue Force Tracker -Army (BFT-A) experience in Kuwait. Qualified candidates must have an active Secret clearance.
HOW THE FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN (BFT-A) WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
Provide functional and technical support to the diverse community of Blue Force Tracking Aviation modules to include log book, quality control office, production control office, and flight operations log book, assist in the instruction and daily maintenance of all aircraft and log book records with customers to assure accuracy. Provide onsite briefings for all unit personnel, over the shoulder training to BFT-A software users, provide help desk support, technical troubleshooting, and resolve procedural issues. Maintain and update an electronic database of common procedural issues and solutions or quick fixes to known issues. Capture and file electronic trouble reports and software change requests. Assist in implementing new aircraft into the system and assist with aircraft transfers. Report data quality issues to unit personnel. Support remote deployments. Coordinate hardware replacements and repairs. Assist in fielding new hardware and new software versions. Maintain an advanced level of technical knowledge and skills required to execute all field service representative tasks assigned. Perform other duties as required. AA/AS, 5+ years experience. (will consider other combinations of years of experience, education and certifications Must have a current and active Secret Clearance. The likely salary range for this position is $69,264 - $80,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. **REPORTS TO: MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR**
**Primary Purpose**:
The maintenance technician is responsible for a wide variety of maintenance activities, preventive maintenance routines, and problem resolution. Responsibilities include but are not limited to maintaining property appearance, electrical, plumbing, heating, air conditioning, and power systems, installing equipment and appliances, sound system setups, apartment setups, general painting of the facility.
**Responsibilities**:
- Maintaining property appearance, equipment, and systems including but not limited to air conditions, electrical, and plumbing at the direction of the Director of Operations.
- Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and general repair to various facility systems.
- Repair and maintain malfunctioning lighting systems.
- Inspect facilities and equipment regularly for problematic or unsafe conditions.
- Carry out routine daily, weekly, monthly general maintenance checks on air conditioner units, plumbing systems, equipment, electrical appliances, electrical, etc. installed in the premises and do the needful accordingly ensuring safe working practices are maintained.
- Install equipment and appliances as required.
- Set up sound systems and projectors for presentations or special events.
- Set up and check sound systems for KG, Elementary, and MS/HS assemblies and gymnasiums.
- Provide full technical/maintenance support to Events Manager, Principals, IT dept. during annual/other events.
- Prepare and submit to the operations director, an annual maintenance schedule for servicing of all split A/c units and package units and service as scheduled.
- Supervise/coordinate with A/C maintenance contractor for major breakdowns and preventive maintenance.
- Coordinating/ supervising pest control around the campus.
- Coordinating/ supervising landscape company and to take care of the irrigation system.
- Updating the maintenance binder.
- Preparing the summer to-do list.
- Supervise/coordinate with the lift maintenance company for monthly maintenance and major breakdowns.
- Check water temperature and quality of swimming pool as well as supervise/coordinate with the swimming pool company during routine cleaning and maintenance.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with plumbing systems including making new pipelines.
- Trace electrical faults and troubleshoot accordingly.
- Check network viewer to ensure security cameras and lights are in working condition and maintain as required.
- Adjust time for the bell system within the network.
- Check on the telephone exchange system and ensure all extensions and ministry lines are in working order.
- Inspect drinking water vending machines and inform water suppliers accordingly.
- Check and ensure all three phases are available at the MEW input power supply lines.
- Handle repair works on classroom and office furniture as required.
- Set up viewing galleries.
- Carry out minor carpentry and other related jobs as required.
- Handle purchases of spares from the local market, required for regular maintenance/breakdowns.
- Prepare a weekly checklist and daily reports to be submitted to the Admin Manager/Operations Director.
**Qualifications**:
- Must be experienced and knowledgeable with A/C and its issues
- Must have ITI certificate
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering
- Firefighting and other relevant skills for apartment/building maintenance
- Must be fluent in English
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
