Purpose: The Assistant Maintenance Manager provides secondary level support and directly reports to the Maintenance Manager for APS-5 Kuwait.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Manages a professional team encompassing a wide range of functions within the discipline:

• Assists in establishing hiring boards to interview candidates for open positions.

• Evaluates staff, comparing objectives and achievements in staff assessments / assignments.

• Coaches employees in their professional career development and process improvements.

• Issues disciplinary or corrective actions when required.

• Recommends termination or contract non-renewal when appropriate.

• Responsible for completing performance evaluations as required.

• Enforces strict adherence to technical data and management procedures.

• Adjusts resources to meet production and man hour utilization requirements.

• Assigns adequate supervisory coverage for each shift.

• Provides required information and reports in a timely, accurate manner.

• Resolves issues and recommends actions to improve delivery of services.

• Ensures accurate daily documentation of maintenance actions.

• Reviews and evaluates management and production effectiveness.

• Analyzes personnel and equipment performance history using QA reports.

• Initiates management actions to meet new workload requirements or correct reported/perceived deficiencies.

• Manages the maintenance planning cycle.

• Ensures correct charge codes are used by employees.

• Ensures only qualified personnel accomplish maintenance with the appropriate equipment and tools.

• Ensures scheduled and unscheduled maintenance actions are entered and completed in the MIS.

• Advises the production supervisor of conditions that may disrupt the orderly and controlled execution of the maintenance plan.

• Performs other position related duties as assigned.

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Specialized Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Comprehensive knowledge of the U.S. Army Logistics STAMIS in use to include GCSS-Army.

• Excellent interpersonal skills to interact well with the customer and with employees at all levels.

• Appropriate verbal and written communication skills to conduct meetings, execute plans, prepare reports, plans and working instructions.

Education:

• High School diploma or equivalent required.

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience:

• Minimum seven (7) years of maintenance level experience on military vehicles.

• Minimum three (3) years of maintenance supervisory experience, and a comprehensive knowledge of applicable governing regulations, policies and procedures.

Certification, License & Clearance:

• U.S. Citizenship required.

• Tier 1 NACI required for all U.S. Citizens.

• Valid driver’s license required.

Facility credentials/authorization required : Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.

Note : U.S. Citizenship is required to for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.

Work Environment, Physical Demands & Mental Demands:

• Ability to perform job duties efficiently and effectively.

• Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.

• Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 Lbs.

• Supervise support on day to day running of maintenance function to ensure maximum efficiency, facilities at optimal cost and under good conditions of quality, safety, and protection for the environment.
  
• Supervise in the installation, repair of company property related to Electrical, plumbing and HVAC/AC including machines: (Gondolas, racks, stacks, palates, cleaning machines, moving machines, baking machines, cutting, gridding, mixing etc.) And mechanical systems and maintenance of all areas of a facility.
  
• Inspecting facilities to determine problems and necessary maintenance
  
• Preparing weekly maintenance schedules and allocate work to his maintenance team to ensure the continuous operation in the department.
  
• Overseeing record of all day-to-day maintenance and service activities undertaken in a facility.
  
• Complying with company policies on the safety and health administration rules while carrying out the maintenance functions.
  
• Ensure adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations.
  
• Synchronizing work with departments so that operations are not affected to a larger extent.
  
• Contribute to the development of maintenance budget and ensure compliance.
  
• Avoid emergencies by regular inspections and act immediately in cases of emergencies.

The maintenance Supervisor is Supervises and coordinates the day to day maintenance activities in their assigned facilities, ensures optimal functioning of services and operations provided in building properties.

• Oversees installation, inspections, repairs, routine maintenance and troubleshooting of building systems including mechanical, electrical, fire/life safety, plumbing, and waste management.
• Tracks facilities’ service requests with applicable system and completes requests within established timelines and quality specifications
• Coordinate to accomplish the requirements in each facilities liaising with Business units and maintenance teams.

Education:
• Graduate / Diploma in any discipline
• Certifications in facility management courses an added advantage
