Position Summary

The Department of Humanities and Fine Arts in the College of Arts at the IUK seeks candidates for an Assistant/Associate professor position to teach courses in areas related to human creativity, including visual arts, theatre, music, film, culture, philosophy, and history. The faculty members will teach introductory-level courses in humanities and fine arts, as well as upper-level undergraduate courses in the area of specialization and related fields. In addition to teaching, successful candidates are expected to maintain significant scholarly work and professional services.

The primary role of the faculty members at the IUK is to promote high-quality teaching, research, and services. Besides, he/she should collaborate with the Head of Department, College's Dean, and the colleagues to achieve the department's and College's mission, mentor junior colleagues, and teaching assistants, and support the department and the University with several administrative and academic services.

The teaching load is 12 credits/contact hours per week. In addition to classes, the faculty members are expected to maintain office hours, provide advisement for students and participate in curriculum development, and contribute to the university professional development activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach different History, Humanities, fine arts and History courses according to his/her specialty and experience.
  • Promote innovation in teaching by introducing new teaching methodologies and strategies. Engage with students in and out of the classroom.
  • Mentor new colleagues and teaching assistants Support the mission of the Department and Collegiate the IUK by following the set curriculum and working towards achieving the program objectives and student learning outcomes.
