This role involves providing efficient, courteous, and error-free counter services to customers, handling all cash and non-cash transactions following prescribed procedures.

Detailed Duties and Responsibilities

Excellence in Customer Service:

• Ensure effective utilization of customer service time to achieve excellence and high-quality service.
• Greet and acknowledge customers with a friendly tone.
• Pay full attention while serving customers.
• Maintain eye contact, display courtesy and friendliness, and build rapport using the customer's name or title.
• Thank customers at the end of their visit.
• Display professionalism and genuine care for customers.
• Assist customers until their banking needs are fully met and they are satisfied.
• Proactively approach unattended customers to offer guidance and assistance.
• Manage counter loads efficiently by assessing situations and processing short transactions first to prevent long queues.

Operational Responsibilities:

Provide a wide range of banking services, including:

• Obtain required cash at the start of each day and maintain it within permissible limits.
• Receive and dispense cash, process cheques, demand drafts, SWIFT transfers, travelers’ cheques, and fund transfers, ensuring proper verification of forms and documents.
• Obtain necessary approvals for issues like insufficient funds or other exceptions.
• Ensure cash adequacy and escalate low cash situations promptly.
• Perform all end-of-day closing activities for the Teller system and vault, ensuring systematic procedures and reporting cash shortages or overages to the Senior Teller.
• Comply with security procedures.

Key Interactions

Internal and External Contacts:

• Interactions mainly with Branch Operations Officer, Branch Manager, Customer Service Representative, Retail Finance Officers regarding cash procedures and transactions.
• Coordinate with Head Office for cash-related procedures.
