**Requirements**:
**Qualifications**:

- Diploma (or equivalent) in Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration Field.
- Minimum 6 months of working experience / internship in the HVAC industry / field.
- A valid driving license is a plus.

Knowledge of
- Principles and practices of HVAC equipment’s maintenance and repair inline with industry practices & manufacturer’s guidelines.
- Hazar & Safety practices and procedures used in installing, repairing & maintaining HVAC equipment and MSDS sheets.
- Overall understanding & practices of tools utilization & management.
- Preparation & filling of inspection reports / Technical reports.
- Overall understanding & complying with quality management practices as per company standards & any other applicable quality standards.
- Good English knowledge in terms of speaking, writing, reading & listening.
- Communication & inter-personal skills, team player & customer oriented.
- Basic understanding & knowledge in Metal sheets, electrical, carpentry & Building Automation controls.

**Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities**
- Follow standard processes to accomplish tasks (Understand & follow oral and written directions).
- Essential Task Description: (daily tasks and duties) including daily timesheet.
- Attend & complete assigned tasks within assigned time to the best ability and ensure quality services & customer satisfaction. Leave site clean & neat.
- Keep customer informed with the task nature & progress upon site arrival & prior leaving work site. Share outstanding issues & suggested enhancements / recommendations.
- Fill up Job Completion Certificate / Job Card / EH&S site surveys.
- Inspect air-conditioning units to ensure efficient operation & diagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctions and make recommendations.
- Make estimates of labor hours & materials required.
- Assist in repairing and replacing damaged parts.
- Cleans coils, blowers, checks motors, and belt tensions.
- Work closely with colleagues as part of an integrated team.
- Recognize safety hazards commonly found in HVAC operations, and identify and implement appropriate controls to ensure safe work.
- Identify situations that require escalation or elevation to Supervisor or Manager for guidance or need to request additional support.
- Manage & organize machinery tools pickup, delivery, usage & inventory as applicable.
- Performs additional duties and responsibilities as required.
- Recognize and identify potential risks and hazards associated with performing all work-related duties safely.
- Attend regular (EH&S / Technical) Trainings & meetings.

**Minimum Product Knowledge**
- DX & Airside Equipment.
- Reciprocating chillers.

As a Field Service Engineer II, you will have the opportunity to provide advanced technical facilitation and expertise to our customers in the Industrial Automation (IA) business unit.

You will be accountable for troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issue, ensuring the successful implementation of our solutions, and driving customer satisfaction.

You will report directly to our Field Service Engineer Manager, and you'll work out of our Kuwait location as a site support engineer.

Responsibilities

  • To ensure efficient delivery of installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance services for Honeywell Fire Alarm and Gas Detection Systems at client sites, in line with Honeywell’s standards, local regulations, and project specifications. Troubleshoot system faults, alarms, and perform root cause analysis to restore normal operation. Replace faulty devices and reconfigure panels as needed.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Prepare commissioning reports, cause & corrective action reports, test forms, and as-built drawings. Maintain accurate records of service calls, spare part replacements, and system configurations.
  • Customer & Project Interface:Liaise with clients, consultants, and contractors for approvals, inspections, and client handovers. Support project handover and provide training to customer personnel. Maintain professional relationships and uphold Honeywell’s image on-site.
  • Compliance & Safety: Follow Honeywell and client site safety protocols. Ensure work complies with NFPA/EN standards and local Civil Defense (KFF) regulations. Keep systems updated with the latest firmware and software patches.
  • Work with the customers to understand their requirements and act as a consultant and provide suggestions for their issues. Maintain Time sheets for billing purpose .Work with solution architects and proposal team for spot proposal submission.
  • Escalate issues in a Timely Manner and follow up the same to solve them in the agreed time frame. Report possible future failures, disturbances, and other opportunities for improvement. Act on priority for requests for spares and additional requests from the customer.
  • Follow the Honeywell SOPs, HSE and quality systems while delivering the execution of spot services
  • Carry out hazard and risk assessments for all tasks as per company policy and procedures.
  • Support in delivery of spot services as per the scope of work for the assignment, working in concert with the services Operations leader (SOL) . Maintains communications with SOL and FSM. Mobility between various sites within country. Maintains communications with SOL and client to ensure tight coordination and agreement
  • Takes full ownership for delivery as per the scope of work for the assignment, working in concert with the services Operations leader (SOL)
  • Pro-actively Manages the SOW and informs SOL/PM of Risks and Opportunities
  • Service & Maintenance: Conduct regular preventive maintenance as per the Annual Maintenance Contracts(AMC). Strong knowledge of fixed gas detection systems (point, open path, flame detectors). Familiarity with design and layout of fire detection zones and gas coverage areas. Ability to interpret and work with wiring diagrams, panel schematics, and cause-effect matrices. Sound understanding of networking (Ethernet, RS485, Modbus, BACnet). Carry out site installation verification, loop testing, and system commissioning for Honeywell Fire Alarm Panels (e.g., XLS Range of panels) and Gas Detection Systems (Fixed point-type gas detectors, aspirating systems, flame detectors). Verify all field devices (smoke/heat detectors, MCPs, sounders, gas sensors) for correct installation and functionality. Integrate Honeywell systems with third-party systems via Modbus/BACnet as per design.
  • Review and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and BOQ to ensure compliance. Willingness to travel to project sites and work for site surveys and data collection. Maintain service records, test reports, and prepare detailed documentation post-intervention for future projects and estimation support

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or related field.
  • Sound knowledge of NFPA, local fire codes, and standards.
  • Hands-on experience in addressable and conventional fire alarm panels, flame and gas detectors, and system integration. Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Good communication and client-handling skills.
  • 8–12 years of experience with Fire Alarm, Gas Suppression System and Gas Detection Systems (preferably Honeywell Systems Experience on XLS-3000, XLS-140, XNX & XCD gas detectors and Safety Manager). Hands-on experience with Honeywell XLS3000, XLS-140-2, Verifire Tools and Safety Manager tools. Sound knowledge of NFPA, local fire codes, and standards. Engineer (Project environment) with commissioning and SAT experience

Provide expert technical support and counsel for emergency situations, maintenance, testing, engineering, programming, designing, and start-up activities related to electrical and mechanical equipment, systems, and subsystems. Diagnose and repair complex equipment and systems beyond the capabilities of other Service technicians. May provide training and direction to other engineers and technicians. Strong programming and engineering skills required.

**Responsibilities**:

- Perform service, maintenance, and repairs on Honeywell and third-party equipment.
- Supervise field installations and cabling in SLJs.
- Determine equipment and accessory needs for implementation.
- Design and program HVAC controllers, Fire Panels, and Access Control Panels.
- Install EBI, prepare graphics, and perform necessary programming.
- Be present during SLJ acceptance and work outside normal hours as needed.
- Ensure customer satisfaction and deliver value to clients.
- Exercise financial control and cost management.
- Analyze project completion and suggest improvements.
- Estimate materials costs and report opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and maintain documentation and quality assurance information.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and report incidents.
- Conduct hazard and risk assessments.
- Minimum Associate's degree or technical trade school diploma (engineering or programming preferred).
- Over 3 years of experience in servicing HVAC, Fire, Security, or access entry and alarm systems.
- Advanced programming skills in Honeywell and industry-based systems.
- Strong fault-finding skills and excellent product knowledge.
- Ability to build relationships with customers.
- Works well with limited supervision and can provide guidance to others.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks.
- Commitment to safety and maintaining a safe working environment.

GDIT has an immediate career opportunity for a Field Service Technician with Blue Force Tracker -Army (BFT-A) experience in Kuwait. Qualified candidates must have an active Secret clearance.
**HOW THE FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN (BFT-A) WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:**
+ Provide functional and technical support to the diverse community of Blue Force Tracking Aviation modules to include log book, quality control office, production control office, and flight operations log book, assist in the instruction and daily maintenance of all aircraft and log book records with customers to assure accuracy.
+ Provide onsite briefings for all unit personnel, over the shoulder training to BFT-A software users, provide help desk support, technical troubleshooting, and resolve procedural issues.
+ Maintain and update an electronic database of common procedural issues and solutions or quick fixes to known issues.
+ Capture and file electronic trouble reports and software change requests.
+ Assist in implementing new aircraft into the system and assist with aircraft transfers.
+ Report data quality issues to unit personnel.
+ Support remote deployments.
+ Coordinate hardware replacements and repairs.
+ Assist in fielding new hardware and new software versions.
+ Maintain an advanced level of technical knowledge and skills required to execute all field service representative tasks assigned.
