Overview

  • This position is physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP.

Under the supervision of the COMMEL Supervisor, responsible for the Field Level Maintenance services and repairs of Vehicle Radio Installation Kits. Provide maintenance and repair of tactical communication systems installed in track and wheel vehicles. Responsible for inventoring and reordering parts for bench stock re-supply.

Responsibilities

This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.

  • Perform a full range of vehicle radio systems maintenance at the Field Level.
  • Complete work assignments within required man hours standards and requirements.
  • Use correct technical manuals, bulletins, and written directives in the performance of duty.
  • Troubleshoot equipment, diagnose problems, and perform corrective actions.
  • Order required repair parts using appropriate parts manuals and/or automated systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education/Certifications: One year of related experience may be substituted for one year of education if a degree is required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to obtain a host nation driver license.
  • Must be CAC eligible and/or able to obtain a CAC.
  • Experience: Three years of work experience in communication maintenance.
  • Skills:
  • Knowledge of test equipment.
  • Collaborative work style fostering cooperation and teamwork.
  • Ability to work effectively with employees and management at all levels, including multi-national staff, superiors, and military officers.
  • Discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Intermediate English communication skills, both verbal and written.

+ Ability to Inspect Check and Test all types of Communication System being Work Ordered to the Shop.
+ Perform PDQR process when receiving improper or damaged repair parts.
+ Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
+ MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
+ High School Graduate or equivalent.
+ Experience:
+ Minimum of six years continuous experience performing maintenance services and Communication Systems of Combat Tactical Vehicles and other communication related systems.
+ Skills:
+ Must possess the technical skills to identify different repair requirements as it pertains to Communication Equipment.
+ Must have expert knowledge of Technical and Commercial manuals for Servicing, Operational and Repair so that the correct procedures are used on the proper equipment.
+ Must be an expert in Corrective Actions performed by the Maintenance Teams and only ensure that his/her equipment is FMC when cleared by the shop.
+ Must have the ability to troubleshoot, Service and Repair Communication Systems work ordered by the customers.
+ Must have full knowledge of TMDE and its proper usage.
+ Must be proficient in how the repair parts system works and what to do when it doesn't work correctly.
+ Must be proficient in all phases of the paperwork that pertains to the Services, maintenance, repairs, classification and etc.
+ Must have expert knowledge of the maintenance prints so as to be able to establish workload priority.
+ Must have expert knowledge of Communication Test procedures and processes.
+ Must have expert knowledge of equipment operations as it is critical to working as a subject matter expert for that shop.

+ None
+ WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
+ Work is generally conducted in a shop environment; however, duties may involve the conduct of work in the out-of-doors area with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions. Work will require lifting up to 50 lbs, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical or biological agents. Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in certain areas. Such PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision and hearing protective devices. Must comply with OSHA, EPA, and Fire Regulations and published company work rules.
