Job Description Summary:
Provides engineering expertise for all aspect of well design and construction, including cost and schedule estimation, drilling fluids and cementing specifications, casing, liner and wellhead design and directional design, culminating in preparing a detailed optimized well program. Drilling Engineer is responsible for the planning and execution support for wells in Wafra Joint Operations including, but not limited to, AFE cost estimates and well programs preparation such as drilling fluids, cementing, directional, bit/bha, etc. Position liaises with other functional departments regarding well maturation, rig schedule, and special projects. - Ensures that well drilling programs fully comply with company standards, contractual agreements, current engineering standards, and government rules and regulations.- Coordinates and communicates engineering activities across multiple company disciplines and with external business partners.
Minimum Requirements:

Oversees field based operations of contracted drilling rig and support services during the drilling and completion of wells. Ensures that all aspects of the approved drilling and completion program are safely and efficiently executed. Sets HES and quality expectations for all activities and co-ordinates logístical support. This position is responsible for direct day to day drill site operations on land-based rigs and routine drilling operations with varying degrees of complexity, from standard base business wells to exploration work. Performance and safety management are key requirements for this position. Key Job Responsibilities also include working in a complex partner environment and being responsible for day-to-day activities of business partners, managing logistics for personnel and equipment, and providing accurate daily reports to Rig Supervisor. - Draw up MPD Strategies, forward plans alongside client Drilling Engineers.
- Offer advice and support for any MPD related queries from field crew, including equipment and software troubleshooting.
- Pursue all MPD related queries, and ensure maximum utilization of MPD equipment.
- Establish and setup calls to discuss strategy and drilling plans with field crew.
- Keep updated on all inspection, testing requirements for the Managed Pressure Drilling Services equipment
- Keep updated on Managed Pressure Drilling Services equipment, upgrades, mechanical and hydraulic equipment manufacturing or regulatory standards.
- Raise and monitor WISE queries.
- Monitor and review all EOWR,
- Know and understand Weatherford Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions

Job Overview
Weatherford is seeking a skilled and results-driven Application Engineer to join our team. This pivotal role is responsible for optimizing MPD and drilling processes, enhancing efficiency, and driving profitability. The ideal candidate will work closely with country and regional team to ensure accurate reporting and compliance. Additionally, this role plays a key part in conducting Operations safely and with minimal interruption to drilling. The job requires constant surveillance and serves as an Engineering advisor.
Responsibilities
Point of contact for client requests, queries, calls and advice. Responsible for monitoring daily MPD reporting including DDR, DDG and any other reports requested by the client. Responsible for performing hydraulic calculations, simulations, MPD game plans including MPC. Draw up MPD Strategies, forward plans alongside client Drilling Engineers. Offer advice and support for any MPD related queries from field crew, including equipment and software troubleshooting. Pursue all MPD related queries, and ensure maximum utilization of MPD equipment. Establish and setup calls to discuss strategy and drilling plans with field crew. Keep updated on all inspection, testing requirements for the Managed Pressure Drilling Services equipment Keep updated on Managed Pressure Drilling Services equipment, upgrades, mechanical and hydraulic equipment manufacturing or regulatory standards. Raise and monitor WISE queries. Monitor and review all EOWR, Know and understand Weatherford Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions Comply with Weatherford and client Quality, Health, Security and Environment (QHSE) procedures and documentation. Actively participate in ToolBox talks, RADAR programme and all safety requirements. Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford Required to complete the competency and training requirements identified by Global and Regional Management. Attend symposiums, Expos’, trade shows as may be required by regional team. Draw up or assist to submit SPE papers on new developments and findings, within the region. Transfer knowledge to Engineering, field crew and office based MPD Personnel.

Excellent Victus, Modus and all related Weatherford MPD software. Excellent Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel computer skills Self-motivator, self-starter Good oral and written communication skills Must be able work closely with fellow employees Customer focused and financially literate. Excellent understanding of MPD products and their application. Individual must be adaptive to change, have multi-tasking ability. Ability to work in a team environment. Should be able to work closely with all levels of personnel and outside contractors.

Job Description
1. Familiar with Capital Program Administration – CPA Team functions such as Project Gate System (PGS) or Well Delivery Project Gate System (WDPGS) for both Subsurface and Surface integration. Project Evaluation, Prioritization, Tracking of projects to best-fit Budget allocation & Approval Processes, Capital Program & Project Progress Reporting. Mapping of business processes/or improvements. Economics analysis like calculating the Net Present Value (NPV) and/or the Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) and/or Internal Rate of Return (IRR).etc.
2. Familiar with Capital Budget Control – CBC Team functions such as Experienced with all aspects of the Capital Budgeting functions such as the preparation and management of the Capital Budget Book and Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) processes. Expertise in coordinating the various steps in the preparation of the Capital Budget Book. As custodians of the company’s Capital Budget Book to ensure that the capital budget is produced in a timely manner and controlled throughout the financial budgeting cycle. Exceptional analytical skills in order to investigate budgeting and accounting reports for the purpose of, maintaining robust capital expenditure controls. Instrumental in the consolidation of the company’s annual re-phasing of expected capital expenditure, providing analysis of the major variances to the original plan, and providing financial and business expertise in all areas of the company’s capital administration.
3. Familiar with Strategic Planning – SP Team functions such as developing the Long – Term Strategic Plan, conducting regular Health of Strategy Checks, and setting the direction for the organization by developing the Business Guidelines. Working with the Assets to develop the annual Asset Action Plan, extracting the Five-Year Plan for reporting purposes and consolidating the annual 72-month production forecast and the quarterly 18-months production forecast. Key processes also include efficiently allocating rig resources based on prioritized Asset needs and responding to ad-hoc demands by top management.
4. Familiar with Performance Management – PM Team functions such as Balanced Scorecards, Strategy Maps, scenario planning, gap analysis, Key Performance Indicators, performing gap analysis, design implement, and continuously improve the organization's performance management framework, tools, and processes. Coordinate and manage Quarterly performance review cycles. Provide training and support to Managers and employees on performance management best practices. Monitor and report on performance management metrics and KPIs. Collaborate with company Directorates to align performance goals with organizational objectives. Recommend and implement performance improvement plans (PIPs) when necessary.
Skills
- Bachelor of Engineering or Equivalent Degree.
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in the Upstream Oil & Gas Industry (Surface & Sub-Surface) specialized Corporate Planning services in O&G industry with a minimum of (5) years as Consultant, Planning.
- Must be computer literate and effluent in English speaking and writing.
- The ability to work with minimal supervision, proactive and oriented to multitask.
