Job Description
We are hiring an experienced and driven Well Engineer – Drilling & Completions to support Baker Hughes in its operations with Kuwait Oil Company (KOC). This position involves designing, planning, and executing safe, efficient, and cost-effective drilling and completion programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and practical experience in both office-based planning and field operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop Well designs and operational programs for drilling and completions.
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies, drilling safety standards, and environmental regulations.
- Oversee and support field execution, ensuring technical integrity and operational efficiency.
- Prepare and review technical documents, well proposals, AFE, end-of-well reports, and risk assessments.
- Collaborate with service companies, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless operations.
- Attend and lead meetings with clients, vendors, and cross-functional teams as needed.
- Monitor and evaluate well performance and recommend improvements.
- Maintain up-to-date records of operational procedures and engineering calculations.
- Ensure full adherence to company work processes, engineering standards, and KOC guidelines.
- Provide troubleshooting support during field operations and contribute to post-job analysis.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- MSc or B.Sc. in Engineering or Scientific Discipline.
- Minimum 6 years of relevant industry experience in a well engineering role (drilling or completions).
- Demonstrated expertise in well design, well planning, well control principles, environmental compliance, and operational execution.
- Experience with both field and office operations within an Integrated Services Oilfield Services (OFS) company.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and industry-standard well engineering software (e.g., Landmark, WellPlan, Drillbench).
- Working knowledge of Weatherford processes, procedures, and QHSE standards is an asset.
- Fluent in written and spoken English. Fluency in Arabic as second language is preferred.

Sr Field Engineer - Directional Drilling

Job Description
Under broad direction, provides on-site supervision of the Directional Drilling (DD) process including projection of well path to predetermined target coordinates. Understands principles of Bottom Hole assembly (BHA) selection and aspects of DD performance and ensures that BHA's are assembled as planned including correct make-up torque, doping and handling. Proficient in the use of DD computer software and able to assist in provision of advice and analysis to the client representative at the well site. This shall include all survey calculations and well path projections. Proficient in updating well profile plots and providing client representative with accurate directional survey data. Aware of client's requirements with regards to surveying procedures. Assists in the completion of a daily DD report, BHA performance report for each BHA run, completion of all service tickets and relevant paperwork (well data spreadsheet, lesson learned/best practice, End of Job Customer Survey (EJCS) and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) forms). Familiar with the DD aspects of the client's approved drilling program. Assists in the inspection of all DD company equipment delivered on the work site. Interfaces with the MWD engineer to ensure BHA compatibility, planned operating parameters are within specification and correct toolface references are applied. Maintains records of all DD equipment at well site including dimensional data and condition. Ensure that all equipment is laid out after use in accordance with company procedures and manifested for backload at the end of the job. Where required ,responsible for submitting accurate daily cost for the DD services. Participates in performance improvement initiatives and peer reviews. Assists in the evaluation of individual performance of the service. Responsible for Company assets on location. Assures that adequate supplies and equipment are present at the job site at all times. Skills acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree in a STEM discipline and 12 months working as a Field Prof-DD, II. Requires ability to read and interpret designed well plans, directional survey information and other well site data. Ability to demonstrate technical aptitude of required standards. Must possess good communication, arithmetic, data entry and recording skills. Must possess relevant rig safety certificates.
