What your day will look like

• Work remotely with a globally distributed team, driving technical excellence and fostering innovation across diverse engineering environments.
• Design and architect high-performance service APIs to power streaming data services, ensuring seamless integration across teams and products using Python and Golang.
• Develop robust governance, auditing, and management systems within our advanced telemetry platform, ensuring security, compliance, and operational integrity.

Key Responsibility: Provide direct technical support for the team in the field of networks and communication systems. Monitor all systems continuously. Prepare periodic reports (daily and monthly) to follow up on and resolve issues. Continuous follow-up on all issues. Resolve issues quickly and professionally. Manage day-to-day operations of the Data Center & Core Network for the specific needs of Network Infrastructure and critical business applications. Acts as technical lead for cross-functional IT teams, providing assistance and troubleshooting network-related issues. Install, configure, troubleshoot, and repair network devices such as switches, routers, firewalls, etc. Responsible for smooth and timely operations and maintenance of the Data Center and Core Network devices. Resolve incidents timely & restore services with permanent solutions. Monitor network performance & trends, prevent the occurrence of incidents and problems, and improve overall performance by the team. Test the disaster recovery site periodically. Provide a detailed report of such tests to the superintendent. Maintain periodic maintenance for the system (applying patches, software upgrades, etc.) as and when available. Requirements: B.Sc. in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent. CCNA Data Center Certified. CCNP Data Center Certified. Minimum of 10 years of experience in Cisco applications and specialized in network administration and maintenance. Experience in data center environments. Experience with Cisco Nexus Switches. Experience in Wireless Networking. Experience with Cisco IP Telephony. Experience in SolarWinds monitoring systems. Experience with Citrix NetScaler. Experience in Infoblox systems. Data Center Network Engineers support the Enterprise-class infrastructure of the RCC-SWA. RCC-SWA engineers provide optimization, administration, and technical documentation of all enterprise infrastructure systems. Additionally, engineers resolve and appropriately complete assigned cases and change requests while acting as an escalation point for troubleshooting issues. The core infrastructure technology duties include an in-depth understanding of Cisco’s Nexus switching, ASR routing, UCS compute platforms, and lifecycle management planning. The MCF is managed by the RCC-SWA and provides enterprise Information Technology (IT) services to approved Army customers.

This position offers company-paid housing and transportation, a completion bonus and tuition reimbursement program!

You must satisfy all host country requirements to legally work in the host country in order to be qualified for this position.

Responsibilities

• Produce enterprise-level support for a dynamic and large-scale networking infrastructure from the perspective of service origination in the data center, as well as service delivery in the global transport architecture. Provide expert level knowledge of data center infrastructure hardware such as Nexus 3K/5K/9K, Fabric Extenders, UCS chassis and UCS Fabric Interconnects. Along with assuming the expert role in regard to vPC, FCoE, Catalyst VSS, MPLS L3VPN, MPLS Traffic Engineering, eBGP/iBGP, OSPF/EIGRP, DMVPN, QOS, FlexPod design philosophy, among other tunneling and data center-centric technologies. While also offering a basic understanding of VMware’s vSphere infrastructure and the virtual networking components for troubleshooting purposes.
• Installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the data center environment are primary roles in this position. Provides change control and engages Cisco TAC for issues, modifications and best practices when needed. Monitors availability and reliability of the data center network and supported infrastructure utilizing Spectrum and Solarwinds Orion. Executes engineering best practices in network builds, integration, testing, and documentation while adhering to security fundamentals provided by DISA’s Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
• Ability to assess networking requirements and provide solutions.
• Ability to make accurate and independent decisions under pressure.
• Experience with a customer service oriented company.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment.
• The work environment will be 95% indoor and 5% outdoor.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • A high level of understanding and experience with data network systems, routing, switching, Virtual Routing and Forwarding (VRF), MPLS, and layer 2 protocols
  • Experience with VPN technologies; (6) a solid background with TCP/IP and must be able to troubleshoot all supported network protocols.

What your day will look like

The data platform team is responsible for the automation of data platform operations. This includes ensuring fault-tolerant replication, TLS, installation, and much more; but also provides domain-specific expertise on the actual data system to other teams within Canonical. This role is focused on the creation and automation of features of data platforms, not analysing the data in them.
