Data Center Storage Engineers support the enterprise storage infrastructure for all sites within the RCC-SWA Area of Responsibility and provide optimization, administration and technical documentation for the enterprise storage infrastructure. DCSEs resolve enterprise-level change requests and act as the top-level of support escalation for all enterprise storage support issues. Principal technical areas include NetApp, EMC, VMware, Windows DFS, Cisco UCS and other related storage, virtualization, networking, and monitoring technologies.

Responsibilities
+ Enterprise-level support for NetApp CIFS, NFS, iSCSI and FC/FCoE storage presented to a wide array of systems including VMware ESXi, Unix, and Linux clients as well as Windows file services and desktop clients. Periodic reports on storage capacity and utilization as well as system uptime and performance. Top-tier support for escalated issues and complex projects. Daily monitoring of all enterprise storage for integrity, reliability, resource utilization and availability. Log review and issue reporting related to monitoring of temperature and overall storage health throughout the SWA AOR.
+ Experienced with VMware storage requirements, configuration, and provisioning. Proficient in planning, installation, configuration, and upgrades of the NetApp storage infrastructure. The top-tier of support for storage projects and solutions for backup, disaster recovery, consolidation/de-duplication, data protection, performance, upgrades, and system audit tasks.
+ Documentation for Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) for configuring and managing storage, storage networks, and physical disks as well as data protection, access control, resource monitoring and management, storage high availability, fault tolerance and scalable storage infrastructure.
+ The work environment will be 95% indoors and 5% outdoors.

Data Center Network Engineers support the Enterprise-class infrastructure of the RCC-SWA. RCC-SWA engineers provide optimization, administration, and technical documentation of all enterprise infrastructure systems. Additionally, engineers resolve and appropriately complete assigned cases and change requests while acting as an escalation point for troubleshooting issues. The core infrastructure technology duties include an in-depth understanding of Cisco's Nexus switching, ASR routing, UCS compute platforms, and lifecycle management planning. The MCF is managed by the RCC-SWA and provides enterprise Information Technology (IT) services to approved Army customers. Program: OMDAC-SWACA

Responsibilities
+ Produce enterprise-level support for a dynamic and large-scale networking infrastructure from the perspective of service origination in the data center, as well as service delivery in the global transport architecture. Provide expert level knowledge of data center infrastructure hardware such as Nexus 9000 series switches, Fabric Extenders, UCS chassis' and UCS Fabric Interconnects. Along with assuming the expert role regarding vPC, FCoE, Catalyst VSS, MPLS L3VPN, eBGP/iBGP, OSPF/EIGRP, DMVPN, FlexPod design philosophy, among other tunneling and data center-centric technologies. While also offering a basic understanding of VMware's vSphere infrastructure and the virtual networking components for troubleshooting purposes.
+ Installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the data center environment are primary roles in this position. Provides change control and engages Cisco TAC for issues, modifications and best practices when needed.
+ Monitors availability and reliability of the data center network and supported infrastructure utilizing DX NetOps Spectrum, SolarWinds Orion and Cisco DNA Center.
+ Executes engineering best practices in network builds, integration, testing, and documentation while adhering to security fundamentals provided by DISA's Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
+ Perform regular system maintenance in support of IAVA vulnerabilities and CCRI compliance.
+ Ensure that all managed technologies are compliant with current DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).

One-year related experience can be substituted for one year of education if the degree is required. Experience

At least five years' of practical experience working with various data (network and system) technologies. Candidate must have a working knowledge of server, storage, and desktop virtualization technologies. Experience with vSphere client, ESXCLI, and PowerCLI is a must. Must have virtualization configuration and administration experience and understands VMware vSphere 6.0 and 6.5 technologies. Experienced with Cisco UCS management, C-series, and B-series servers. Experienced with regular virtualization capacity planning and reporting.

Certifications

This position requires candidates to adhere to DOD 8570.01-M. All candidates are required to maintain at least one (1) baseline certification and one (1) computing environment (CE) certification. The authorized certifications for this job title are listed as follows: IAT Level: IAT III

Working Environment
