Job Description
The Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing all accounting and financial control activities in compliance with international accounting standards and internal policies. The role ensures accurate financial reporting, effective management of financial processes, and supports strategic decision-making through timely analysis, reporting, and budgetary control.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic & Managerial
- Contribute to the development of departmental objectives, KPIs, and individual goals for the finance team.
- Ensure departmental performance targets are met and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Delegate responsibilities, manage attendance and leave schedules, and oversee performance evaluations and training needs of subordinates.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, external stakeholders, auditors, and financial institutions.
- Support the preparation and consolidation of annual and projection budgets; present reports and insights to senior management and the Board of Directors.
- Review and validate the company’s financial statements and related disclosures to ensure compliance and transparency.
Operational Accounting
- Oversee and review all accounting entries and transactions to ensure compliance with IFRS and internal policies.
- Manage core accounting processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and journal entries.
- Ensure accurate and timely postings to the General Ledger.
- Supervise month-end and year-end closing processes for timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Maintain updated books of accounts, ensure appropriate recognition of provisions, impairments, and other financial adjustments as per regulatory requirements.
