The Field Engineering team is our team of cloud solutions architects at Canonical, working directly with our customers, designing private and public cloud solutions fitting their workload needs. The portfolio of products includes on-premise cloud solutions such as Openstack, MicroCloud and Ceph, and solutions that could be deployed either on-premises or in public clouds such as Kubernetes, Kubeflow, Spark, PostgreSQL, etc. A Cloud Professional Services Manager is responsible for line management and career guidance. The ability to develop engineering talent, to represent your team from a technical perspective, and to drive collaboration with other teams and customers are all critical to success in this role. Eportal is looking for highly capable Cloud Solutions Architect (CSA) to partner with our Cloud Solutions Sellers in engaging enterprise customers. This role is the technical counterpart in the sales process — translating business requirements into cloud architectures, leading technical discussions, validating solution designs, and ensuring customer confidence in adopting Azure, Google Cloud, and Microsoft 365 .
The CSA serves as a trusted technical advisor to CIOs, IT leaders, and technical teams, helping them design secure, scalable, and innovative cloud solutions aligned to business priorities.
Responsibilities- Technical Opportunity Leadership
- Partner with Cloud Solutions Sellers to qualify opportunities and shape technical solution approaches.
- Lead the technical discovery process, mapping customer requirements to cloud capabilities across Azure, GCP, and Microsoft 365.
- Create solution architectures, reference designs, and roadmaps for enterprise workloads (infrastructure, data/AI, security, productivity, apps).
- Customer Technical Engagement
- Conduct deep-dive workshops, whiteboarding sessions, and design reviews with customer architects and IT teams.
- Build and present proof-of-concepts, pilots, and demos that reduce risk and accelerate adoption.
- Serve as the go-to technical expert during the opportunity lifecycle, addressing objections and ensuring feasibility.
- Solution Design & Validation
- Ensure solutions are secure, compliant, and optimized for enterprise scale.
- Integrate hybrid and multi-cloud scenarios, combining Azure, GCP, and Microsoft 365 where appropriate.
- Collaborate with partners and delivery teams to confirm deployment readiness and alignment with customer success criteria.
- Collaboration & Orchestration
- Work hand-in-hand with the Cloud Solutions Seller to orchestrate opportunities from a technical perspective.
- Engage product specialists and engineers to strengthen proposals.
- Ensure smooth handover from pre-sales design into implementation/delivery phases.
- Thought Leadership & Enablement
- Stay current with cloud technology roadmaps, competitive offerings, and best practices.
- Represent the technical voice of the customer to vendors (Microsoft, Google) for escalations and feedback.
- Mentor internal teams and partners to elevate cloud technical expertise.
- 8+ years of technical experience in enterprise IT architecture, presales engineering, or solution consulting.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of Azure and/or GCP services, and Microsoft 365 (identity, security, collaboration).
- Demonstrated ability to design and validate cloud architectures for large-scale enterprise workloads.
- Excellent communication skills: ability to simplify complex concepts for both technical and business audiences.
- Proven ability to engage at both CxO level (strategic) and architect level (technical depth).
- Deep expertise in at least one solution area:

This role is centered on opportunity development and solution selling — identifying high-value initiatives within enterprise accounts and orchestrating the right cloud solutions to deliver measurable business outcomes. You will act as a trusted advisor to CxOs and senior IT/business leaders, guiding them in adopting cloud services across infrastructure, data/AI, security, and modern workplace solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Opportunity Identification & Development
- Engage deeply with enterprise customers to uncover business challenges and transformation priorities.
- Qualify and shape opportunities by mapping customer needs to cloud solutions across Azure, GCP, and Microsoft 365.
- Build strong business cases with financial justification (ROI/TCO) and risk/benefit analysis.
- Solution-Oriented Selling
- Lead value-based conversations on how cloud solutions solve specific enterprise challenges (e.g., agility, compliance, cost optimization, security, collaboration).
- Design solution roadmaps that connect cloud capabilities with customer outcomes (e.g., data modernization, hybrid/multi-cloud optimization, secure productivity).
- Orchestrate resources (technical specialists, architects, partner solutions) to build winning proposals and proof-of-concepts.
- Executive & Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as the primary interface with C-level decision makers (CIO, CTO, CFO, CISO, CHRO, etc.) to secure executive sponsorship.
- Develop account strategies around key opportunities and multi-year transformation journeys, not just short-term deals.
- Influence customer stakeholders at both business and IT levels to accelerate solution adoption.
- Partner & Ecosystem Leverage
- Identify and integrate the right ecosystem partners (SI, MSP, ISV) into opportunity pursuit.
- Drive joint solutions with hyperscalers and technology partners, maximizing funding and incentive programs.
- Ensure seamless handover from sales to delivery for long-term customer success.
- Market & Competitive Awareness
- Maintain strong knowledge of enterprise IT and cloud market dynamics.
- Articulate differentiation of Azure, GCP, and Microsoft 365 against competing solutions in complex enterprise scenarios.
- Position multi-cloud and hybrid solutions as enablers of flexibility and risk mitigation.
- 10+ years of enterprise solution sales experience, with at least 5 years focused on cloud or SaaS platforms.
- Proven ability to develop, qualify, and close complex opportunities with large organizations.
- Strong track record of solution-based selling: framing business problems, building business cases, and driving executive buy-in.
- Experience with multi-cloud architectures, productivity, and security solutions.
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365 E5, Azure advanced workloads, and Google Cloud enterprise services.
- Experience selling into regulated industries (finance, government, oil & gas, healthcare, telecom).
- MBA or advanced degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field.
- Recognized certifications (Azure Expert, GCP Cloud Digital Leader, Microsoft 365 Fundamentals).
- Excellent executive presence and communication skills (storytelling, negotiation, influencing).
- Shaping and closing high-value enterprise opportunities with measurable impact.
- Driving enterprise adoption of Azure, GCP, and Microsoft 365 across multiple workloads.
- Establishing yourself as a strategic advisor to enterprise customers with multi-year transformation roadmaps.
