Cloud Solutions Architect in our Alliances team

to help our biggest partners (companies like Intel, Nvidia, Google, Dell, HP, Accenture, Tata and the like) understand and embrace our open source platform for themselves and their customers.

Our worldwide field engineering team apply expert insights to real-world customer problems, enabling the enterprise adoption of Ubuntu, OpenStack, Kubernetes, AI/MLOps and a wide range of associated technologies. We are experts in the whole open source stack, from kernel to desktop, from cloud to the edge. Our team is also interested in business problems - building things reliably, efficiently and cost-effectively, and we have to learn to speak the language of our customers and their industries.

We help global companies embrace public and private cloud infrastructure, cloud native operations, and open source applications. For this team we are looking for several Alliances Engineers to support OEM (hardware manufacturers), GSI (global system integrators), ISV (independent software vendors), Channel partners and Public Cloud alliance partners. You will support various alliances and partners of Canonical to adopt our products and technologies, help business leaders to define joint go-to-market programs with partners from the technical standpoint.

What your day will look like

Understand Ubuntu, Linux, networking and services in real-world environments Architect cloud infrastructure solutions like Kubernetes, Kubeflow, OpenStack, Ceph, and Spark either On-Premises or in Public Cloud (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) Architect and integrate popular open source software such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Kafka, Cassandra and NGINX Help partners to offer and architect joint solutions utilizing Canonical's technologies on top of the public clouds and in the data center Design and publish joint Reference Architectures and perform technical validations with various partners Prepare and run onboarding sessions/workshops with various partners' teams to promote Canonical products and solutions

Responsible for the configuration, implementation, and maintenance of various technologies managed by the IT Infrastructure department. This position will focus on the operation and administration of cloud infrastructure systems, managing and maintaining cloud security controls.

Your Responsibilities

Functional

• Manage and support Microsoft office 365 suite, Azure Identity, endpoint management (Intune) and Microsoft SharePoint online
• Deploy and operate cloud infrastructure resources, virtual machines, licenses, services and network integration
• Manage and monitor Microsoft Defender for Endpoint to ensure real-time threat detection
• Implement security access controls, maintain the cloud infrastructure security posture and hands-on experience on Microsoft Defender XDR suite and Microsoft 365 security and compliance portal
• Participate in security incidents and forensic analysis upon requirement

Your Responsibilities Functional Manage and support Microsoft office 365 suite, Azure Identity, endpoint management (Intune) and Microsoft SharePoint online Deploy and operate cloud infrastructure resources, virtual machines, licenses, services and network integration Manage and monitor Microsoft Defender for Endpoint to ensure real-time threat detection Implement security access controls, maintain the cloud infrastructure security posture and hands-on experience on Microsoft Defender XDR suite and Microsoft 365 security and compliance portal Participate in security incidents and forensic analysis upon requirement Ensure infrastructure compliance with industry systems standards Write scripts for the purpose of automating routine tasks, reports and ad hoc requirements Address events raised by monitoring systems and analyz alerts’ trends to ensure system healthiness Monitor, plan and coordinate the distribution of and applying operating system updates, patches and configuration changes Work with system and services’ architects during major incidents and planned changes Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations Document system configuration and incident technical details upon requirement General Ensure all Company and Department policies and procedures are followed. Follows IT standards and defined processes and policies for workflow using a systematic approach, to complete assigned tasks. Ensure a positive service image in the user community. Manage several projects concurrently. Perform other duties as assigned. IT Security Implement and act in accordance with the organization’s information security policies. Protect assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference. Execute particular security processes or activities. Ensure responsibility is assigned to the individual for actions taken. Report security events or potential events or other security risks to the organization. Your Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science or an equivalent Minimum of 3 years of systems experience Proven experience on Microsoft 365 administration, Azure Identity, SharePoint and OneDrive, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and Microsoft Defender for Cloud Your Proficiencies

Domain knowledge of cloud infrastructure setup like Azure, AWS and Oracle cloud Deep knowledge in IT Infrastructure, Operation systems (Windows, Linux), Microsoft SQL server, Virtualization, High availability, Network LAN/WAN technologies and Monitoring tools, Good knowledge of several programming languages for scripting or automation of routine tasks, like Python and PowerShell

We are hiring a Junior Cloud Field Engineer to help global companies embrace the latest private cloud infrastructure, Linux and cloud native operations, and open source applications. Our team applies expert insights to real-world customer problems, enabling the enterprise adoption of Linux Ubuntu, OpenStack, Kubernetes and a wide range of associated technology.

This role has very diverse responsibilities. The team members are Linux and cloud solutions architects for our customers, designing private and public cloud solutions fitting their workload needs. They are the cloud consultants who work hands-on with the technologies by deploying, testing and handing over the solution to our support or managed services team at the end of a project. They are also software engineers who use Python to develop Kubernetes operators and Linux open source infrastructure-as-code.

The people who love this role are developers who like to solve customer problems through architecture, presentations and training.

Location: This role will be home based.

• Work across the entire Linux stack, from kernel, networking, storage, to applications
• Work in Python to design and deliver open source code
• Architect cloud infrastructure solutions like OpenStack, Kubernetes, Ceph, Hadoop and Spark either On-Premises or in Public Cloud (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)

What we are looking for in you

• University degree in Computer Science or related software engineering expertise
• You have sound knowledge of cloud computing concepts & technologies, such as Kubernetes, OpenStack, AWS, GCP, Azure, Ceph, etc.
• You have practical knowledge of Linux and networking
• You have Intermediate to Advanced level of Python programming skills
• You are a dynamic person who loves to jump in new projects and interact with people
• You have a demonstrated drive for continual learning
• Excellent communication and presentation skills (English)
• You have great organisational skills and follow-up reliably on commitments
