General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Field Service Technician with Blue Force Tracker - Army (BFT-A) experience in Kuwait. Qualified candidates must have an active Secret clearance.
Responsibilities- Provide functional and technical support to the diverse community of Blue Force Tracking Aviation modules to include log book, quality control office, production control office, and flight operations log book, assist in the instruction and daily maintenance of all aircraft and log book records with customers to assure accuracy.
- Provide onsite briefings for all unit personnel, over the shoulder training to BFT-A software users, provide help desk support, technical troubleshooting, and resolve procedural issues.
- Maintain and update an electronic database of common procedural issues and solutions or quick fixes to known issues.
- Capture and file electronic trouble reports and software change requests.
- Assist in implementing new aircraft into the system and assist with aircraft transfers.
- Report data quality issues to unit personnel.
- Support remote deployments.
- Coordinate hardware replacements and repairs.
- Assist in fielding new hardware and new software versions.
- Maintain an advanced level of technical knowledge and skills required to execute all field service representative tasks assigned.
- Perform other duties as required.
- AA/AS, 5+ years experience. (will consider other combinations of years of experience, education and certifications
- Must have a current and active Secret Clearance.
- Graduate of DOD AVN Maintenance MOS Producing School OR Graduate of FAA Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) school OR Graduate of the APM BFT-AVN Technician Training Course and 2 yrs direct related experience may be substituted for a DOD Aviation Maintenance MOS or FAA A&P license.
- Must have US Passport.
- Must be able to complete CRC requirements to deploy.
The likely salary range for this position is $69,264 - $80,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

Overview
The KC-130J Aviator’s Life Support Equipment Technician will troubleshoot and or repair malfunctions in the aircraft safety and survival systems as well as all aircrew safety and life support equipment. There will also be a requirement to assist in all other supporting aircraft systems that require general aviation mechanical skills and knowledge. Perform assigned maintenance to specified KC-130J standards, to include performing operational testing procedures and required functional tests in support of the KC-130J maintenance manual series. Performance abilities will include maintenance and serviceability procedures for subsystem components, to include pressurization & environmental systems, fire suppression, life rafts, cartridge actuated devices (CADs) and aviator’s breathing oxygen component removal, inspection, and reinstallation. In the course of assigned duties will apply a thorough knowledge of aircraft safety and survival system and aircrew safety and life support equipment engineering principles, techniques, and methods in the maintainability of existing equipment and systems. Possess competent abilities in the use and application of hand tools, power tools, and associated precision measuring equipment used in support of system testing, evaluation, and operation. Possess the ability to read and interpret manufacturers' maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, diagrams, schematics, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.

- Troubleshoots and /or repairs malfunctions in the aircraft safety and survival system and aircrew safety and life support equipment systems and all other supporting aircraft systems that require general aviation mechanical skills and knowledge, performing assigned maintenance in compliance with established directives and specified KC-130J MRC/MIMs to include performing calibration procedures and required functional tests.

Experience
Four years’ maintenance experience with C-130J Aviator’s Life Support Equipment/Environmental Control Systems preferred. Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) 4790.2 or equivalent experience with Air Force Instruction 21-101 preferred. Must have a working knowledge of first aid procedures to be used in an emergency. Must have a strong knowledge base of aviation maintenance programs, processes, and procedures (example: Safety, Tool Control, ABO, Egress, HAZMAT, inspection programs, administrative requirements, support equipment, calibration/torque programs & procedures).

Must be United States (U.S.) citizen, be able to read, write, and understand the English language Must be able to obtain a United States Passport. If you currently possess a United States Passport it must have at least 24 months of time remaining before expiration. Must have a valid U.S. Driver’s License. Must be willing to follow Kuwait Labor Law policies and able to adhere to and comply with all Kuwaiti Labor and Immigration requirements. Must be willing to administrate, maintain, and manage maintenance programs (ex. Tool Control, HAZMAT, FOD, MetCal, etc…) as required by local policies. Must be willing and able to comply with all contractual Performance Work Statement (PWS) Requirements to include but not limited to: The performance of “I” Level maintenance functions in support of In-Flight Refueling Reel/system maintenance, NLG & MLG Tire re-building, MLG Brake repair/rebuilding, Battery maintenance support, and Oxygen Regulator testing/repair. Must be willing and able to deploy off-site as required to support Kuwait Air Force operations. Must be willing to work flexible hours, to include day shift, night shift or weekend duty and travel as part of a maintenance recovery team as required. Must have the ability to communicate clearly, concisely and follow instructions when directed on assigned tasks. Must have skills and aptitude to cross train and/or support other maintenance technicians in completing assigned maintenance actions, to include but not limited to: The performance and completion of daily inspections (including the ability to inspect/sign off on all associated aircraft maintenance/technician specialties), marshalling/recovering aircraft, fueling, towing, mooring, and conducting post flight procedures to ensure aircraft are properly secured upon completion of maintenance. As a Subject Matter Expert, must be willing to perform in-depth research, troubleshoot, and perform “O” and “I” level maintenance functions on all applicable aircraft systems and components necessary to return aircraft to a Full Mission Capable status; this includes determining material requirements, researching part numbers, ordering, tracking, and receiving materials as required to facilitate aircraft inspections/repairs. Must be able to communicate directly with the customer, pilots, air crew members, management, and maintenance personnel to gather and relay pertinent data/information necessary to ensure aircraft depart timely and launches are not delayed. Must have an in-depth knowledge of aircraft technical orders/job guides/publications—read, interpret, follow and comprehend schematic diagrams, drawings, charts and technical publications. Must have an in-depth knowledge (aircraft/vehicle movement and safety/hazards) of flight line operations. Must be able to overcome cultural differences and to think outside the box, innovate, and provide solutions to the many complex problems and obstacles associated with international contracting and desert climate operations. Must perform as a team member, contributing to the success of the C-130J maintenance department. Must be dependable and timely in managing assigned tasks, perform consistent quality maintenance. Must have a proven ability to work independently with minimal direction.
