The **Army - Aviation Life Support Equipment (ALSE) Technician** serves as focal point for all logistics and repair functions for all supplied ALSE, first aid kits and Night Vision Devices.
- Inspects and approves completed maintenance actions, solves repair problems by studying drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics, and technical publications.
- Inspects, instructs, services and certifies individual and crew equipment.
- Order, receive and inventory kits and components.
- Resolve shipping discrepancies.
- Ensure proper fit of crew member clothing.
- Maintain ALSE and NVD for DoS and DI personnel.
- Maintain computerized inventories and records to ensure timely and accurate compliance with inspection intervals.
- Provides instruction to contractor and host nation personnel regarding the proper use and care of equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Minimum Requirements**:

- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- One (1) year verifiable experience as an ALSE technician
- Must possess a certificate of training as a school trained ALSE Technician
- Valid US Passport (minimum 2.5 years validity) Required for deployment to Germany.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance, NAC-I T1 Public Trust. ** **US Citizenship is required** to obtain a T1/CAC NACI Clearance.
- Must meet and be able to pass CENTCOM Medical requirements, prior to deployment.
- Ability to obtain a favorable background check for Kuwait PCC and obtain a Kuwait Visa.

**Knowledge & Skills**
- CMF 92 Supply & Services MOS series or another military/commercial equivalent (92R MOS preferred).
- Must have working knowledge of aircrew and aircraft LSE requirements for extreme environmental and high-risk areas of operation.
- Must be able to ascertain LSE requirements for a multi-type aircraft environment.
- Must have knowledge of basic theory of flight and aircraft systems nomenclatures.
- Must have knowledge of flight line/ramp safety procedures and aircraft fire-fighting procedures.
- Must have knowledge of aviation maintenance data systems and associated documentation/forms.
- Must have knowledge of life support equipment maintenance tools and tool control procedures.
- Must have knowledge of seat kit survival components.
- Must have knowledge of aircrew life raft and life preserver inspections/maintenance.

**Physical Requirements/Working Environment**
- Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for up to six hours per day and sit for up to two hours per day.
- Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, and ladders and work stands.
- Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.
- May be required to carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds.
- May be required to lift up to 50 pounds to height of four feet and be required to lift up to 35 pounds to height of 7 feet.
- Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sounds.

- May assist a higher-level systems analyst by preparing the detailed specifications required by computer programmers from information developed by the higher-level analyst.
- May research routine user problems and solve them by modifying the existing system when the solutions follow clear precedents.
- Prepare cost and deadline estimates as required for review.
- Works independently to adapt guides to specific situations; resolve problems and deviations according to established practices; and obtain advice where precedents are unclear or not available.
- Carries out objectives, priorities and deadlines as defined by the supervisor.
- May supervise technician and others who assist in specific assignments.

**Minimum Requirements**
- Completion of High School diploma, certification of education level is required.

- Must be in possession of a U.S. Passport and be able to travel internationally with minimum 6 blank pages and 2 plus year validity on expiration date of passport.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required for Secret Security Clearance at this work location.
- Must be able to pass CENTCOM medical requirements for deployment.
- Must be able to obtain a visa in CENTCOM locations.

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Requires competence in most phases of system analysis.
- Systems analysis and design skills in an area such as a record keeping or scientific operation.
- Knowledge of pertinent system software and computer equipment.
- Ability to recognize probable interactions of related computer systems and predict impact of a change in assigned system.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated and the ability to work independently.

Overview: ITC Defense is looking for an Aviation Logistics Planner to support the Kuwait F/A-18 Program in Kuwait. Responsibilities:
Support could be in any combination of (but not limited to) the following general areas:
  • Key advisor and liaison officer between KMOD Senior Staff Officers and USG regarding Kuwait F-18 Hornet Program.
  • Ensures all USG recommendations are delivered to KMOD and explained in detail, and that the Kuwait Air Force (KAF) is aware and updated on efforts by the USG to resolve technical, supply, training, or support issues.
  • Conducts weekly field visits to Ahmed Al-Jaber Air Base (AAJB) and meets with Base Commander, Operations, and Chief of Maintenance on all matters regarding their Legacy and Super Hornets. This information is then relayed back to PMA-265 for review and action.
  • Works on F-18 logistics and maintainability programs with maintenance organizations on issues such as technical evaluations and identification of weapons systems, logistical requirements, and resources.
  • Provides Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and Reliability & Maintainability (R&M) program test and evaluation planning/execution, as well as program management analysis.
  • Serves as an authorized courier for the United States Embassy (Kuwait) for the transfer of classified material between US Embassy/KMOD and Kuwait Area of Responsibility (AOR).
  • Works with other U.S. government activities regarding the shipments and final delivery of F-18 Hornet assets to Kuwait in lieu of a freight forwarder.
  • Coordinates with incoming USG repair teams to facilitate meetings, work schedule, and base access.
  • Performs as required duties to help maintain/increase fleet readiness including driving to other bases within Kuwait to receive aircraft parts and deliver to the F-18 Program.
  • Leads weekly WSLO teleconferences with the Kuwait Air Force (KAF) and PMA-265 discussing issues regarding fleet readiness.
  • Provides F-18 Legacy and Super Hornet status briefings to OMC-K Chief and KMOD Director of logistics and Supplies (DLS).
  • Serves as the liaison with the USG in providing updates, information, and guidance to KMOD/KAF regarding the upcoming delivery and execution of the KAF F-18 Super Hornet Program.
  • Attends meetings within the Continental United States (CONUS) in support of Legacy and Super Hornet Program.
  • Works with OMCK training team and Naval Education and Training Security Assistance Field Activity (NETSAFA) on creating student pipeline training agendas for the Super Hornet Program as well as assisting with student manning levels.
  • Communicates with CONUS Kuwait Liaison Officers in Virginia and Florida regarding Super Hornet program deliverables.
  • Works daily with KAF Contracts branch senior officers regarding all F-18 Foreign Military Sales (FMS) contracts.
  • Conducts logistics, supportability, reliability, maintainability, and operational analyses and provide recommendations for tailoring, optimizing, and establishing logistics element requirements in support of aircraft, weapon systems, training, or support equipment (SE) programs.
  • Provides recommendations for changes to site support including maintenance planning, phased support, manpower and personnel requirements, initial provisioning and material support, SE, training and training devices, technical data, as well as packaging, handling, storage, and transportation facilities.
  • Provides recommendations for the development of Life Cycle Cost (LCC) and Total Ownership Cost (TOC) Management Plans.
  • Provides recommendations for the review and development of Maintenance Plans/Logistics Support Analysis (MP/LSA) records, maintenance tasks, and Level of Repair (LOR) Analysis recommendations.
  • Analyzes prospective changes to aircraft/weapons/SE quantities and determine the potential effects that these changes will have on program life cycle support.
  • Tracks milestones and action items based on review and analysis of the (Letter of Offer and Acceptance) LOA, contract schedules, In-Service Support Plan, and other pertinent documentation.
  • Assists the Program Office in new business acquisition as well as FMS or Security Cooperation case development, implementation, and follow-on support activities.
  • Supports and attends Program Management Reviews, Technical Coordination Meetings, conferences, briefings and other significant program activities and events occurring in CONUS and OCONUS, as required.
  • Participates in special projects as required.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Active Department of Defense Secret or Interim Secret Security Clearance
  • Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university and greater than ten (10) years of work experience in a field related to FMS, logistics, program management, or a technical or business analysis discipline related to acquisition, life cycle management, analysis, or planning. Additional experience can be substituted for a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree.

GDIT has an immediate career opportunity for a Field Service Technician with Blue Force Tracker -Army (BFT-A) experience in Kuwait. Qualified candidates must have an active Secret clearance.
**HOW THE FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN (BFT-A) WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:**
+ Provide functional and technical support to the diverse community of Blue Force Tracking Aviation modules to include log book, quality control office, production control office, and flight operations log book, assist in the instruction and daily maintenance of all aircraft and log book records with customers to assure accuracy.
+ Provide onsite briefings for all unit personnel, over the shoulder training to BFT-A software users, provide help desk support, technical troubleshooting, and resolve procedural issues.
+ Maintain and update an electronic database of common procedural issues and solutions or quick fixes to known issues.
+ Capture and file electronic trouble reports and software change requests.
+ Assist in implementing new aircraft into the system and assist with aircraft transfers.

Overview

  • Troubleshoots and /or repairs malfunctions in the aircraft safety and survival system and aircrew safety and life support equipment systems and all other supporting aircraft systems that require general aviation mechanical skills and knowledge, performing assigned maintenance in compliance with established directives and specified KC-130J MRC/MIMs to include performing calibration procedures and required functional tests.
  • Performance abilities include maintenance and serviceability procedures to related aircraft components, to include environmental control systems, AC & temperature control, pressurization, pneumatic, and oxygen systems component removal, inspection, and reinstallation and the incorporation of applicable technical directives and bulletins.
  • Apply a thorough knowledge of troubleshooting and repair of environmental control systems, to include temperature, pressurization, pneumatic, and oxygen systems and methods in the maintainability of existing KC-130J equipment and systems.
  • Possess competent abilities in the use and application of hand tools, power tools, and associated precision measuring equipment used in support of system testing, evaluation, and operation, to include complying with established local tool control programs.
  • Read, interpret, and apply manufacturers' maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, diagrams, schematics, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components
  • Use illustrated parts breakdowns (IPB)s to determine material requirements, research associated part numbers, and order parts to complete maintenance actions.
  • Performs periodic special, hourly, conditional, and phase maintenance/isochronal inspections as required by Maintenance Instruction Manuals (MIM)s, Maintenance Requirement Cards (MRC)s, manufacturer’s specifications, and all applicable directives, orders, and instructions as directed through Maintenance Control.
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance actions, to include cross-training in all required essential technical specialties, to facilitate the removal, inspection, repair/replacement, installation, and test procedures of aircraft component parts, survival equipment (life rafts, first aid kits, etc.), pneumatic systems, environmental control systems, fuel systems, avionics systems, and all associated aviation life support equipment, airframes, and power plants systems.
  • Remove, replace, transport, facilitate disposal, and perform inspections on ordnance components and devices (Ex. SP84 & M190), monitor expiration dates of installed explosive devices as well as ready service locker stored devices, as required for the ALSE work center.
  • Create, maintain, and monitor all required logs and records pertaining to Aviators Flight Equipment and ensure accurate historical documentation in accordance with applicable directives, orders, and instructions.
  • Interpret MIMs and all associated maintenance publications, orders, and directives to perform maintenance and use processes to document such maintenance actions, ensuring the accurate entry of data into the locally used computer database system.
  • Performs applicable “O” and “I” level maintenance functions in support of In-Flight Refueling Systems and rebuild shop and Aircraft Tire & Wheel rebuilding. MLG brake maintenance/rebuilding.
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance actions, to include cross-training in all required essential technical specialties, to facilitate the removal, inspection, repair/replacement, installation, and test procedures of aircraft component parts, survival equipment, pneumatic systems, environmental control systems, fuel systems, avionics systems, and all associated airframes and power plants equipment systems.
  • Inspect, control, and prevent corrosion of aircraft metals and system components using established and approved procedures.
  • Checkout and operate all necessary support equipment for flight line maintenance of established maintenance procedures.
  • Conduct off-station maintenance when required.
  • When necessary, perform other duties and supervisory functions, critical to the function of the program and to assure compliance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS).

Education / Certifications :

  • High School Diploma
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain the following required certifications/qualifications:
  • Aviation Gas Free Engineering (AVGFE) certification
  • Hydraulic Contamination certification
  • Explosive handling certifications (previous qualification documentation required)
  • Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) run qualification
  • Applicable Support Equipment licensing
  • S&S and Flight Equipment (13A & 13B) Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI) qualification

Experience

  • Four years’ maintenance experience with C-130J Aviator’s Life Support Equipment/Environmental Control Systems preferred.
  • Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) 4790.2 or equivalent experience with Air Force Instruction 21-101 preferred.
  • Must have a working knowledge of first aid procedures to be used in an emergency.
  • Must have a strong knowledge base of aviation maintenance programs, processes, and procedures (example: Safety, Tool Control, ABO, Egress, HAZMAT, inspection programs, administrative requirements, support equipment, calibration/torque programs & procedures).

  • Must be willing and able to comply with all contractual Performance Work Statement (PWS) Requirements to include but not limited to: The performance of “I” Level maintenance functions in support of In-Flight Refueling Reel/system maintenance, NLG & MLG Tire re-building, MLG Brake repair/rebuilding, Battery maintenance support, and Oxygen Regulator testing/repair.
  • Must be willing and able to deploy off-site as required to support Kuwait Air Force operations.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, to include day shift, night shift or weekend duty and travel as part of a maintenance recovery team as required.
  • Must have the ability to communicate clearly, concisely and follow instructions when directed on assigned tasks.
  • Must have skills and aptitude to cross train and/or support other maintenance technicians in completing assigned maintenance actions, to include but not limited to: The performance and completion of daily inspections (including the ability to inspect/sign off on all associated aircraft maintenance/technician specialties), marshalling/recovering aircraft, fueling, towing, mooring, and conducting post flight procedures to ensure aircraft are properly secured upon completion of maintenance.
  • As a Subject Matter Expert, must be willing to perform in-depth research, troubleshoot, and perform “O” and “I” level maintenance functions on all applicable aircraft systems and components necessary to return aircraft to a Full Mission Capable status; this includes determining material requirements, researching part numbers, ordering, tracking, and receiving materials as required to facilitate aircraft inspections/repairs.
  • Must be able to communicate directly with the customer, pilots, air crew members, management, and maintenance personnel to gather and relay pertinent data/information necessary to ensure aircraft depart timely and launches are not delayed.
  • Must have an in-depth knowledge of aircraft technical orders/job guides/publications—read, interpret, follow and comprehend schematic diagrams, drawings, charts and technical publications.
  • Must have an in-depth knowledge (aircraft/vehicle movement and safety/hazards) of flight line operations.
  • Must be able to overcome cultural differences and to think outside the box, innovate, and provide solutions to the many complex problems and obstacles associated with international contracting and desert climate operations.
  • Must perform as a team member, contributing to the success of the C-130J maintenance department.
  • Must be dependable and timely in managing assigned tasks, perform consistent quality maintenance.
  • Must have a proven ability to work independently with minimal direction.

**Description**
**Overview**
The KC-130J Aviator's Life Support Equipment Technician will troubleshoot and or repair malfunctions in the aircraft safety and survival systems as well as all aircrew safety and life support equipment. There will also be a requirement to assist in all other supporting aircraft systems that require general aviation mechanical skills and knowledge. Perform assigned maintenance to specified KC-130J standards, to include performing operational testing procedures and required functional tests in support of the KC-130J maintenance manual series. Performance abilities will include maintenance and serviceability procedures for subsystem components, to include pressurization & environmental systems, fire suppression, life rafts, cartridge actuated devices (CADs) and aviator's breathing oxygen component removal, inspection, and reinstallation. In the course of assigned duties will apply a thorough knowledge of aircraft safety and survival system and aircrew safety and life support equipment engineering principles, techniques, and methods in the maintainability of existing equipment and systems. Possess competent abilities in the use and application of hand tools, power tools, and associated precision measuring equipment used in support of system testing, evaluation, and operation. Possess the ability to read and interpret manufacturers' maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, diagrams, schematics, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
**Major Job Activities**
**Description:**
· Troubleshoots and /or repairs malfunctions in the aircraft safety and survival system and aircrew safety and life support equipment systems and all other supporting aircraft systems that require general aviation mechanical skills and knowledge, performing assigned maintenance in compliance with established directives and specified KC-130J MRC/MIMs to include performing calibration procedures and required functional tests.
· Performance abilities include maintenance and serviceability procedures to related aircraft components, to include environmental control systems, AC & temperature control, pressurization, pneumatic, and oxygen systems component removal, inspection, and reinstallation and the incorporation of applicable technical directives and bulletins.
· Apply a thorough knowledge of troubleshooting and repair of environmental control systems, to include temperature, pressurization, pneumatic, and oxygen systems and methods in the maintainability of existing KC-130J equipment and systems.
· Possess competent abilities in the use and application of hand tools, power tools, and associated precision measuring equipment used in support of system testing, evaluation, and operation, to include complying with established local tool control programs.
· Read, interpret, and apply manufacturers' maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, diagrams, schematics, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components
· Use illustrated parts breakdowns (IPB)s to determine material requirements, research associated part numbers, and order parts to complete maintenance actions.
· Performs periodic special, hourly, conditional, and phase maintenance/isochronal inspections as required by Maintenance Instruction Manuals (MIM)s, Maintenance Requirement Cards (MRC)s, manufacturer's specifications, and all applicable directives, orders, and instructions as directed through Maintenance Control.
· Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance actions, to include cross-training in all required essential technical specialties, to facilitate the removal, inspection, repair/replacement, installation, and test procedures of aircraft component parts, survival equipment (life rafts, first aid kits, etc.), pneumatic systems, environmental control systems, fuel systems, avionics systems, and all associated aviation life support equipment, airframes, and power plants systems.
· Remove, replace, transport, facilitate disposal, and perform inspections on ordnance components and devices (Ex. SP84 & M190), monitor expiration dates of installed explosive devices as well as ready service locker stored devices, as required for the ALSE work center.
· Create, maintain, and monitor all required logs and records pertaining to Aviators Flight Equipment and ensure accurate historical documentation in accordance with applicable directives, orders, and instructions.
· Interpret MIMs and all associated maintenance publications, orders, and directives to perform maintenance and use processes to document such maintenance actions, ensuring the accurate entry of data into the locally used computer database system.
· Performs applicable "O" and "I" level maintenance functions in support of In-Flight Refueling Systems and rebuild shop and Aircraft Tire & Wheel rebuilding. MLG brake maintenance/rebuilding.
· Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance actions, to include cross-training in all required essential technical specialties, to facilitate the removal, inspection, repair/replacement, installation, and test procedures of aircraft component parts, survival equipment, pneumatic systems, environmental control systems, fuel systems, avionics systems, and all associated airframes and power plants equipment systems.
· Inspect, control, and prevent corrosion of aircraft metals and system components using established and approved procedures.
· Checkout and operate all necessary support equipment for flight line maintenance of established maintenance procedures.
· Conduct off-station maintenance when required.
· When necessary, perform other duties and supervisory functions, critical to the function of the program and to assure compliance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS).
