Job Description
The Aircraft Mechanic II - Powerplant/Engine Back Shop Mechanic (T700/701C/D, T55-714) with experience in all three MDS UH60, CH47 & AH64 performs and inspects aviation unit (AVUM ), intermediate (AVIM ) and depot maintenance on assigned aircraft systems.
Perform maintenance and repair of major assemblies and subassemblies of the T700/701C/D, T55-714 and auxiliary power units.
Inspect engine turbine blades to detect cracks, distortion, corrosion, burn-out, security, or breaks.
Perform blade blending and blade replacement in cold section of powerplants.
Replace or repair worn or damaged components, such as generators, alternators, fuel controls, fuel pumps, oil pumps, and engine mounted gearboxes, and compressor bleed valves.
Ability to Perform hot section inspections and determine replacement of hot section components (GG rotors, stators, fuel injectors, igniters, power turbine.)
Disassemble and inspect parts for wear, cracks, security, or other defects.
Perform engine removal, replacement, reinstallation, and quick-change assembly (QCA) maintenance tasks.
High School Graduate or equivalent is required.
Five (5) years of recent applicable aircraft maintenance experience is required.
With A&P Two (2) years aviation maintenance experience, and Two (2) years' experience on MDS UH60, CH47, & AH64 is required.
Without A&P, must have Three (3) years aviation maintenance experience, Three (3) years rotary wing aircraft experience and Two (2) years on the assigned Mission Design Series UH-60, AH-64, CH-47 (MDS) to qualify.
All experience must be within the Five (5) most recent years.
Must be in possession of a Valid U.S. Passport for travel internationally. Passport must contain a minimum of 6 Blank pages and 2 years remaining before expiration date.
Ability to obtain/maintain a US Government Security Clearance (NAC-I T1) Public Trust. US Citizenship is Required to obtain a Security Clearance, and for facility access to this site.
Able to clear CENTCOM MOD Physicals requirement for deployment. (Attend CRC).
Must be able to obtain Kuwait Visa.
Knowledge & Skills
General knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures and replacement of parts.
Thorough knowledge of aircraft electrical and avionics component and system troubleshooting, repair procedures and replacement of parts.
Thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers.
Working knowledge of technical publications and Logistics Information Systems.
Able to prioritize workloads to maintain schedules on assigned projects and is required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks.
Possess the level of experience to inspect all required aeronautical type maintenance to be performed by Mechanics.
The incumbent receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician, will occasionally be required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks, and may be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
May work in aircraft maintenance hangar or outside.
May be required to respond to a wide variety of operational circumstances, including extreme weather conditions and rudimentary infrastructure.
May be exposed to extreme noise from turbine and jet engine aircraft.
May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles; may be exposed to electrical shock hazards or work near moving mechanical parts, vehicles, or aircraft.
Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for certain periods throughout the day.
Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands.
Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.
May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
May be required to see aircraft in flight, read dials/gauges, identify small objects and hand tools.

The
Aircraft Mechanic II (Sheetmetal)
maintains, modifies, and integrates the aircraft structure and its parts.
Maintain, modify, and install the various components of aircraft sheet metal. Repair, rework, install and fabricate the complex aircraft structural assemblies, both internal and external. Lay out plans, fabrication, and installation models for modifications. Balance rotary-wing aircraft controls and apply primers/paints on aircraft surfaces. Fabricate structural parts using metal-forming techniques and fiberglass materials Perform checks; carry out inspections and removal of components. Study technical manuals, blueprints, and engineering drawings. Provide assistance to aircraft technicians and mechanics on various tasks. Remove and disassemble defective parts of the aircraft. Perform final checks on assembly and installation of parts that were replaced. Maintain and keep track of all the maintenance records. Adhere to company policies and safety programs. Maintain the supplies and perform preventive maintenance.
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent. U.S. military technical school or specialized training course is desired, certification of education level is required. Aircraft/Blade painting experience preferred. Three (3) or more years aviation maintenance experience within the past Five (5) years on the mission design series (MDS) UH60, AH64, CH47. Or A&P license and Two (2) years aviation maintenance experience within the past Five (5) years on the mission design series UH60, AH64, CH47 (MDS). Must be in possession of a U.S. Passport and be able to travel internationally with minimum 6 blank pages and 1.5 plus year validity on expiration date of passport. Must be able to obtain and maintain facility Public Trust NAC-I. Note: US Citizenship is required for facility Public Trust NAC-I at this work location. Must be able to pass CENTCOM medical requirements. Must be able to obtain Kuwait PCC & Visa.
Knowledge & Skills
Thorough knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair. Basic knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures and replacement of parts. Basic knowledge of electrical theory and a thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers. Working knowledge of technical publications and Logistics Information Systems. Able to prioritize workloads to maintain schedules on assigned projects and is required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks. Possess the level of experience to inspect all required aeronautical type maintenance to be performed by Mechanics. The incumbent receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician, will occasionally be required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks, and may be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records.

The UH-60 Aircraft Mechanic AM-I (UH-60) troubleshoots malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneudraulic, engines, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems.
