Job Description
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Oversee and ensure the accuracy of financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries specific to the construction industry.
- Provide expert guidance and support in invoicing and billing processes, including preparation and processing of client invoices and billing statements, and timely follow-up on accounts receivable.
- Manage and reconcile company expenses, tracking and categorizing project-related expenditures to ensure compliance with budgetary constraints.
- Conduct regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy between bank statements and financial records, addressing any discrepancies promptly.
- Lead the preparation of comprehensive financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, contributing to the analysis of financial data to inform strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate closely with project managers to track project budgets, providing valuable insights and financial expertise to support project success.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and regulatory requirements within the construction industry, assisting in the preparation of internal and external audits as needed.
- Maintain organized and accurate financial records and documentation, filing and archiving financial documents for reference and audit purposes.
- Utilize accounting software and financial management systems effectively, staying updated on software features and functionalities to optimize financial operations.
**Skills and Requirements**:
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly and effectively.
- Strong collaborative skills, capable of working effectively within a team and across departments to achieve common goals.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment.
- A meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
- Advanced proficiency in spoken and written English, with the ability to communicate financial concepts fluently.
- Expertise in accounting software relevant to the construction industry (e.g., Al Shamel system, Bio Type system) and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide valuable insights to inform decision-making processes.
**Education and Experience**:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
A minimum of 10 years of proven experience as an Accountant, with a significant portion of that experience within the construction industry.
In-depth knowledge of construction accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
