Key Responsibilities

Lead, design, and guide software development initiatives, while contributing individually when needed. Architect and design scalable software systems and solutions. Design, develop, and implement industrial database systems (MS SQL), including data structures, optimization, and performance tuning. Identify and implement business process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality. Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle: requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance. Develop enterprise-grade applications using ASP.NET technologies. Write complex MS SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions. Develop reports and dashboards using SSRS and Power BI. Debug and troubleshoot application and database issues. Participate in architectural and code reviews to ensure technical quality. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including department managers, vendors, and engineers. Communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Qualification

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.

Required Experience

Minimum 5-7 years of experience in software development Proven experience in designing and implementing software architectures and enterprise-level solutions. Strong background in ASP.NET development. Solid experience in MS SQL Server â including complex queries, stored procedures, performance tuning, and database optimization. Hands-on experience developing reports using SSRS and dashboards using Power BI. Involvement in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, system design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance. Prior experience in identifying and executing business process improvements or workflow automation is highly desirable.

Required Technical Skills

Proficient in ASP.NET, .NET Framework / .NET Core Deep knowledge of MS SQL Server, T-SQL, indexing, and optimization techniques Experience with SSRS, Power BI, and data visualization/reporting tools Solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and application scalability Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication skills (technical and non-technical) Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams Strong documentation and presentation skills Fluent in English (Arabic is a plus)

You will work closely with Amazon, Microsoft, Google and other world-class cloud partners to make Ubuntu the best platform there is in the clouds. Your time will be split between build system development (using Python, Jenkins and shell), implementation of cloud-related features within Ubuntu Server itself, operation of our continuous delivery pipelines, and direct partner engagement. You will strive to automate the delivery of existing and new Ubuntu products applied to all modern workloads from web servers to GPU-aided AI for servers, VM's and containers, and integrate our products with cloud native services.

What the role entails

• Build automated, highly reliable image delivery, testing and publication pipelines
• Design, build and integrate new features and enhancements into Ubuntu that will support users of Ubuntu in public clouds

Job Description As a member of the Kubernetes product team, you will build operators and addons; the former offers complete lifecycle management of mission-critical components, and the latter provides a zero-ops experience for seamlessly integrating projects into Kubernetes.

You will familiarize yourself with the latest features in Kubernetes and incorporate open-source solutions to enhance functionality for our end-users. Collaboration with industry peers and partners will be essential to deliver the right solutions to our customers.

This is an exciting opportunity for a software engineer passionate about open source software, Linux, Golang, Python, and Kubernetes.

Location This is a remote position available in EMEA and the Americas.

Who you are

Proven track record of at least 3 years of professional software development using Go or C++. You have experience working with RESTful APIs or asynchronous messaging protocols You have interest and experience with a few of the following: Containers (docker, kubernetes) Linux distributions Snap, debian, or RPM packaging Shell scripting CI/CD (Github Actions, Gitlab CI, etc) IoT frameworks and protocols Real-time applications AIML inference frameworks You value soft skills, communication and advocacy, and are passionate, enterprising, thoughtful, and self-motivated You have a Bachelor's or equivalent in Computer Science, STEM or similar degree

These smart, connected devices have the potential to transform every industry. Classic Ubuntu – desktop or server – is widely used in embedded systems because of its developer focus and enterprise grade security maintenance. We partner with the world's most prominent silicon companies to optimise Ubuntu on their latest and greatest chips, as well as with major OEMs and ODMs (PC, servers and connected device manufacturers) to ensure that Ubuntu works perfectly on their hardware.

What your day will look like

What we are looking for in you

An exceptional academic track record from both high school and university Drive and a track record of going above-and-beyond expectations Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM, or a compelling narrative about your alternative path Experience with Linux (Debian or Ubuntu preferred) Passion for Linux or embedded systems software (e.g. kernel, graphics, Yocto) Fluency in at least one of Golang, C, C++, or Rust Professional written and spoken English Excellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and accountability Passion, thoughtfulness, and self-motivation Excellent communication and presentation skills Result-oriented, with a personal drive to meet commitments Ability to travel twice a year, for company events up to two weeks each
