This role ensures high availability, performance, and security of virtualized systems and supports Linux on Z workloads. Install, configure, and maintain IBM z/VM operating systems and related components. Manage virtual machine resources, including allocation, monitoring, and optimization. Support Linux on Z environments running under z/VM. Perform system upgrades, patching, and performance tuning. Monitor system health and troubleshoot issues related to z/VM and virtualized workloads. Implement and maintain security protocols and compliance standards. Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to support business requirements. Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and policies. Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing. Provide technical support and mentoring to junior administrators. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 3+ years of experience in z/VM system administration. Strong knowledge of IBM Z architecture and virtualization concepts. Experience with Linux on Z and integration with z/VM. Familiarity with RACF, TCP/IP, and other mainframe networking protocols.
