Adhere to, implement and contribute to development of policies, procedures, standards and protocols of the clinical area to ensure that working practice is underpinned by current best clinical practice evidence. Active in the delivery of initiatives to maintain Nursing Quality Improvement targets and sets performance improvement plans to achieve desired outcomes in line with the institutional strategic goals in coordination with the Nursing Manager. Contribute to Nursing personal and professional development activities, competencies, educational and research programs, staff appraisal and other functions as assigned by the Nursing Manager. Ensure availability & cost-effective utilization of supplies & safe operation of equipment. Actively contributes to the planning and implementation of Nursing Development workplan and through participation in relevant working groups. Act as a role model through the provision of professional nursing leadership and demonstration of competent and effective practice within the nursing and research team. Work as part of a team to provide and promote a safe, effective, efficient care environment for patients, visitors and staff. Active in ensuring DDI Accreditation standards are met. Ensure adverse events are reported in a timely and effective manner at local level and escalate as appropriate in compliance with related legislation and guidelines. Perform other assignments when needed within the scope of practice based on institution /department demand. Supervisory Responsibilities Nursing Staff/CSSD Required Skills and Expertise:
Requirements: 8 years relevant nursing with broad range of clinical nursing experience. 2 years Senior Nurse level experience. Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association or equivalent. Experience of Quality Improvement, Clinical Audit and Service evaluation. Experienceof data analysis, report writing and presentation of findings. Supervisory & Leadership skills. Good team working/leadership skills with ability to motivate others and work independently. Excellent organizational, time management/prioritising skills/ ability to work under pressure. Experience in teaching and research processes. Demonstrable problem solving and change management skills. Evidence of continued academic and/or professional development. Preferrable experience in quality management, quality assurance, infection control. Desirable qualification – advance QI training and project management.
