What You Offer
The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of the PE English National Curriculum and is able to teach the subject across Key Stages 2/3 and 4. The successful candidate would reflect upon and adapt practice to raise attainment while instilling confidence and independence into our pupils. The successful candidate would also commit to the successful and extensive after-school programme on offer at GBA.

Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status: A degree qualification in teaching (e.g. PGCE or Bachelor’s in Education) with evidence of teaching Physical Education or sports science. Expert knowledge of your subject area as evidenced by your passion and CPD for various pitch and court focused sports and activities. Recent UK teaching experience or international experience within a British curriculum-based, BSO-accredited school. Fluent in spoken and written English. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to inspire and build good relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues. A clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and/or police check. Comfortable using Google Workspace (Gmail, shared drives, forms, etc).
Desirable
Your degree subject is in Physical Education. Swimming teaching experience to assist the Swimming Instructor as and when required. Familiarity with initiatives such as Philosophy for Children and Growth Mindset. Experience in leading netball and volleyball teams.

REPORTS TO: HEAD LIFEGUARD, OR AQUATIC DIRECTOR/SUPERVISOR
Primary Functions:
Responsible for ensuring the safety of facility patron by preventing and responding to emergencies.
Key Responsibilities of a Lifeguard include:
- Recognize and respond effectively in emergency.
- Enforce all aquatic facility policies, rules, and regulation.
- Inspect the facility on a daily schedule and report any unsafe conditions or equipment to the supervisor.
- Participate in regular in-service training sessions.
- Exercise regularly to maintain fitness level (strength and endurance).
