**Pharmacist Responsibilities**:
- Compounding and dispensing medications, as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitoring customers’ drug therapies, advising interventions, and informing customers of any potential side effects.
- Instructing customers on how and when to take prescribed medications.
- Conducting health and wellness screenings.
- Providing immunizations, and other medical services, such as taking blood pressure, temperature measurements, and checking blood sugar levels.
- Keeping accurate customer records.
- Ensuring a safe and clean working environment.
- Completing operational requirements of the pharmacy, including verifying order entries, maintaining records of controlled substances, charges, and removing expired and/or damaged drugs from the pharmacy’s inventory.
- Adhering to applicable legal rules, regulations, and procedures governing pharmaceutical practice.
- Performing other administrative tasks when needed.
**Pharmacist Requirements**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or Pharmacology.
- Proven experience as a Pharmacist.
- Valid license to practice as a Pharmacist.
- Detailed understanding and knowledge of dosage requirements and administration, chemical compounds, and pharmaceutical brands.
- Great organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

**POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES**:
1. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
2. Compounds, labels and packages medications and pharmaceuticals
3. Advises patients and family on use of various medications including dosage, side effects and composition.
4. Ensures secure storage of narcotics and other controlled substances on a regular basis.
5. Checks stock on a regular basis to identify and reorder outdated stock and ensure that stock is maintained in accordance with manufacturer requirements.
6. Assists in preparing required reports by compiling information.

Provides direct patient care services that optimizes the use of medication and promotes health, wellness, and disease prevention. Collaborates with physicians and other healthcare professionals to improve pharmaceutical care. Involved in creating a comprehensive drug therapy plan for patient-specific problems, identifying goals of therapy, and reviewing all prescribed medications prior to dispensing and administration to the patient. The review process often involves an evaluation of the appropriateness of the drug therapy (e.g., drug choice, dose, route, frequency, and duration of therapy) and its efficacy. The pharmacist must also monitor for potential drug interactions, adverse drug reactions, and assess patient drug allergies while designing and initiating a drug therapy plan. As a clinical pharmacist, they will also have a role in clinical research, from recruiting and consenting participants to coordination and follow-up. Responsibilities
Recruit and consent patients for research. Coordinate follow-up visits and any other research-related tasks. Recruit within DDI and at external venues. Oversee the Dasman Diabetes Resource Hub (DDRH) and monitor and follow-up calls and data entry on REDCAP. Develop policies and procedures for DDRH Expand pharmaceutical services provided to Dasman and the public through establishment of DDRH. Provide consultancy services regarding pharmacotherapy, drug, and diabetes education Conduct medication reconciliation for patients Develop and deliver educational programs through talks/lectures/workshops to DDI staff and HCPs Appropriately document patient assessment and plan, including rationale for any recommendations made, in the progress notes of the medical chart Aid in the continued improvement of processes as it relates to the pharmacotherapy consult service Aid in the development of patient educational materials to be used during consultations Train Dasman healthcare staff in regard to medication management and establish structure Respond to verbal and written questions received from the public on diabetes & related disorders Collaborate in organizing and conducting outreach and awareness campaigns Create with PR medication and diabetes-related content for social media Participate in the creation and update of medical information on DDI website Maintain and continue to grow a database of frequently asked questions, standard response guidelines, and knowledge base of information Other job-related duties as necessary Required Skills and Expertise:
BSc in Pharmacy from an accredited School of Pharmacy Licensed as a pharmacist in Kuwait Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical setting with direct patient contact Proficient in Arabic and English Special interest and experience in diabetes is preferred Experience in providing education and training is preferred Other Comments:
