We are looking for a Radiology Technician to join our team and provide exceptional healthcare across the region.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Maintains production and quality of radiographs by following established standards and procedures; developing radiographs; observing radiographic results; making necessary adjustments.
• Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Works independently, performs all routine and specialized radiography procedures, and associated responsibilities, as dictated by the workload in the rostered area, ensuring necessary patient care for all ages.
• Acts independently in the assessment of referrals for radiography examinations, taking responsibility to reduce unnecessary ionizing radiation exposure, and assessing patient conditions to determine appropriate diagnostic imaging methods.
• Adheres to departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and regulations relevant to radiography patient care. Maintains accurate records of all imaging using appropriate systems.
• Follows hospital radiation safety, protection, and MRI safety policies, taking action against non-compliance.
• Supports the Radiography Supervisor to maintain expertise and reduce faults/issues, ensuring safe operation of radiography equipment and optimal resource utilization.
• Verifies X-ray requests to ensure recommended procedures align with physician orders.
• Selects immobilization devices when necessary to prevent patient movement and ensure safety and comfort.
• Labels all X-ray films clearly with patient’s name, ID, and hospital number.
• Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
• Prepares contrast media after assessing patient risk for adverse reactions.
• Monitors patient condition, including vital signs, IV fluids, oxygen, etc., as required.
• Ensures emergency trolley is available for immediate response in emergencies.
• Preserves patient dignity at all times.
• Provides full explanations to patients regarding procedures, including diet restrictions and medications.
• Uses X-ray equipment and accessories following safety standards and codes of practice.
• Wears personal monitoring devices, reviews occupational exposure reports.
• Reports equipment malfunctions to the radiologist and chief technician.
• Inspects and cleans screens and cassettes, processes exposed films.
• Monitors and maintains stock levels for consumables.

• Works independently, performs all routine and specialized Radiography procedures, and associated responsibilities, as dictated by the workload in the roistered area. Ensuring the necessary patient care is provided to patients of all ages.
• Acts independently in the assessment of referrals for Radiography examinations, taking full responsibility to reduce unnecessary ionizing radiation exposure of patients and utilizing skills to assess a patient’s condition, often acute, decide on an appropriate method to obtain a diagnostic image from a range of options.
• Adheres to departmental and applicable organizational policies, procedures and regulations relevant to the Radiography patient care team. Maintains accurate and concise records of all imaging received by the patient using the appropriate systems.
• Adheres to and promotes compliance with the hospital’s radiation safety and protection and MRI safety policies and associated codes of practice and takes appropriate action where non-compliance is evident.
• Supports the Supervisor – Radiography to manage and maintain a high level of expertise and reducing faults/issues effectively to guarantee the safe operations of the Radiography equipment, ensuring an efficient flow and optimal utilization of resources.
• Check the X-ray request to verify the procedure recommended by the physician.
• The technician should select immobilization device, when necessary, to prevent the patient from moving during the procedure and also to ensure the patient's safety and comfort.
• All X-ray films should be labelled clearly with the patient's name, ID and hospital number.
• Confidentiality of the patient records should be maintained at all times.
• Before preparing contrast media for administration, information should be obtained to determine if the patient could be at risk from an adverse reaction.
• Monitor the patient's condition, i.e., vital signs, I.V. fluid, oxygen, etc., whenever required.
• An emergency trolley should be available all the time to react instantly for an emergency situation, if happened.
• At all times, the technician should preserve the dignity of the patient.
• A full explanation should be given to the patient, i.e., diet restrictions, preparatory medications, prior to an imaging procedure.
• The radiology technician should use X-ray equipment and accessories, employing techniques and procedures, in accordance with accepted safety standards and codes of practice.
• Wear a personal monitoring device while on duty, reviewing and evaluating individual occupational exposure reports.
• Reports any malfunctions of the equipment to the attending radiologist and the chief of technicians.
• Inspects and cleans screens and cassettes, processing exposed films.
• Monitors and maintains stock levels for consumables relative to the service.

• Ability to communicate in Arabic and English (speaking and writing).
• Experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).

• Diploma in Radiology. Preferably an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.
