Job Objective / Summary
Conduct the strategic and operational planning for the Department and manage the implementation of actuarial consulting engagements for clients.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in applied actuarial sciences
- Holding a master's degree in applied actuarial science is preferable.
Professional Certificates
Passing academic requirements of the actuary certification, which includes:
- Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA), USA;
- Associate of Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (AIA), UK.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in actuarial work.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in insurance companies.
- In addition to the above, experience with actuarial consulting firms is preferable.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare the Department's strategic plan and annual operational plan at service level and budgeting level;
- Assist in preparing annual promotion plan for the Department services;
- Develop creative copywriting of webpages related to actuarial consulting services;
- Prepare technical and financial proposals submitted to clients;
- Prepare the client engagement letters;
- Implement the client engagements;
- Review, evaluate and advise on the client's policy for actuarial matters, procedures and controls;
- Prepare actuarial calculations;
- Review and evaluate the client’s solvency margin and financial and technical position;
- Review, evaluate and make recommendations regarding the client’s investment policy;
- Review and evaluate the validity and accuracy of data and information on issues related to the calculation of technical reserves;
- Review, evaluate and advise on reinsurance agreements and strategy to maintain the client’s financial position;
- Review and evaluate the client’s general policy regarding insurance products, in addition to designing and developing the pricing policy and reviewing the terms and conditions of insurance policies and contracts;
- Prepare monthly reports submitted to senior position;
- Perform any other tasks that may be assigned to them by the direct manager.
Knowledge
- International Financial Reporting Standard 17 (IFRS 17)
- Law No. 125 of 2019 regarding the Regulation of Insurance and its Executive Bylaw
- International Standards of Actuarial Practice (ISAPs)
- Software used for managing insurance contracts from actuarial perspective
Technical Skills
- Ability to calculate the actuarial technical reserves
- Ability to calculate the solvency margin for insurance companies
- Ability to establish corporate governance systems for insurance companies
- Ability to prepare any other reports relating to the actuarial consulting as mandated by Insurance Regulatory Unit

**Your key responsibilities**
As Assistant Manager, you will be required to work effectively as a team member, draw on your knowledge and experience to solve complex issues and support the MENA local Partner(s) and build relationships with MENA internal clients and peers.
As a Assistant Manager:

Whether it is working with multiple client teams, advising the clients on IT Risk related matters or assisting executives with business development activities across various sectors, you will build strong relationships and become a trusted advisor to your MENA clients.
- You will participate in MENA engagements, working effectively as a team member, providing support, maintaining communication and updating senior team members on progress. You will assist in client service delivery, participate in all assigned tasks, and assist in preparing reports that will be delivered to clients and other parties.

**To qualify for the role, you must have**
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information systems or a related discipline. Alternatively, a degree in business, accounting, finance, with additional IT qualifications.
- 4+ years of relevant experience of working as IT risk consultant or an IT auditor for a public accounting firm, professional services firm, technology company, telecom company or a financial services company, or comparable experience as an IT/IS consultant
- Fluent English communication skills
- Strong verbal and written communication with out of box thinking abilities.
- Proficient in MS Office products (Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
**Ideally, you’ll also have**
- CISA, CISSP, CISM, and/or CIA certification is essential for long-term growth in the role; Based on an individual’s professional background, area of specialization or industry focus, we recognize that other certifications, credentials or experience may be more relevant than the listed certifications and therefore may be acceptable.
- Experience working in a similar role with an international consulting firm
- Proficiency in MS office
- More operationally focused in working and institutionalizing best practices and process
