**The Purpose:

Job Summary
The Senior Supply Chain Officer will lead and manage the school’s procurement, inventory, and logistics operations to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods and services. This role is pivotal in maintaining smooth school operations by overseeing supply chain activities, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring compliance with school policies and local regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement and Vendor Management:
Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including sourcing, tendering, and contract negotiations. Identify, evaluate, and engage with reliable local and international suppliers. Monitor supplier performance and ensure adherence to agreed terms and conditions.
Inventory Management:
Oversee inventory control systems to ensure optimal stock levels of educational materials, office supplies, and equipment. Conduct regular stock audits and maintain accurate inventory records. Implement strategies to reduce waste and optimize resource utilization.
Logistics Coordination:
Supervise the logistics and delivery of supplies, ensuring timely distribution to various school departments. Manage customs clearance processes and ensure compliance with Kuwaiti import/export regulations. Resolve logistical challenges promptly to minimize disruptions.
Budget and Cost Optimization:
Monitor and manage supply chain budgets, ensuring alignment with financial goals. Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement efficiency improvements in procurement and logistics processes.
Policy and Compliance:
Ensure all procurement and supply chain activities comply with the school’s policies and local legal requirements. Promote ethical and sustainable procurement practices.
Collaboration and Reporting:
Work closely with academic and administrative teams to understand resource requirements and align supply chain operations with school priorities. Provide detailed reports on procurement, inventory, and logistics performance to the senior management team.
Person Specification
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CIPS, CSCP, or equivalent (preferred). Experience:
At least 3–5 years of experience in supply chain management, procurement, or logistics. Previous experience in an educational or service-oriented organization is desirable. Familiarity with Kuwaiti import/export regulations and customs procedures (advantageous). Skills and Competencies:
Strong knowledge of procurement and logistics principles. Proficiency in supply chain management software and inventory control systems. Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and negotiation abilities. Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities. Personal Attributes:
