Full Job Description

Play a pivotal role in providing technicalguidance and direction to the Studies and Research Department and offerexpert opinions and advice on economic matters.

Supervisethe preparation of economic and social studies and research, and contribute totheir preparation.

Participatein project assessment, prepare evaluation reports, and monitor ongoingprojects.

Contributeto the study and monitoring of technical assistance, preparing necessarymemoranda and agreements.

Provideopinions and advice on economic matters as requested by the Management.

Assistin managing, monitoring, and enhancing the fellowship program.

Superviseand collaborate in preparing chapters of the unified Arab economic report bythe institution. Review drafts of report chapters and provide feedback.

Organizeand facilitate economic and social conferences and seminars, and activelyparticipate in their proceedings.

Contributeto efforts in coordinating with relevant institutions and organizationsassociated with the tasks and activities of the institution.

Representthe institution in international conferences, seminars,and boards of directors of invested institutions.

Preparework papers related to Management tasks and the institution'seconomic activities.

Reviewincoming correspondence to the Studies and Research Department and draftresponses.

Providetraining to junior economists.

Assistthe Head of Department in their responsibilities.

Undertakeother job-related tasks as assigned.

Requirements

Doctorate in Economics from a reputable university.

12+ years of proven experience as an Economist in a national or internationalfinancial institution, research institutions, or public organizations engagedin studies, research, and programming. This experience should include at least5 years in project analysis, evaluation, and management.

Abilityto lead, persuade others, work in teams, and coordinate efforts.

Capabilityto handle multiple tasks and issues simultaneously.

Effectivetime management skills with adherence to deadlines.

Attentionto detail and precision in work.

Proficiencyin economics fundamentals, statistical analysis, and computational economics,including computer applications.

Stronganalytical skills, familiarity with international economic issues, andunderstanding of matters and developments relevant to the department and theinstitution.

Abilityto propose solutions, provide effective advice, and gather information forinformed decision-making.

Strongverbal and written communication skills, including persuasive public speakingand simplifying complex information in seminars and meetings.

Proficiencyin Microsoft Office software packages, communication platforms, and video conferencingtools.

Fluencyin both Arabic and English is essential, and proficiency in the French languageis considered an additional desirable skill.

Demonstratesgood manners, leadership ability, a sense of responsibility, and openness tocriticism and guidance.

Valuestime, adheres to deadlines, and has the ability to lead teams.

Willingnessto share skills and experiences with others.

Adheresto the professional and ethical standards and rules applied within theinstitution.
