Job Summary


Raytheon’s Field Engineering team is seeking a Senior AESA RadarEngineering Technician toadviseandmentorourcustomersand end users on the operation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of the APG-79ActiveElectronically Scanned Array (AESA) RADAR system on F/A-18 E/F and EA-18G Aircraft.


This Onsite position is in Kuwait and will be a long-term international assignment with additional compensation.


Onboarding may be in China Lake, CA.


Responsibilitiesto Anticipate


  • Responsiblefor analyzing equipment failures todetermineroot cause and recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide APG-79 training to all squadron maintainers and aircrew asneeded.
  • Perform continuous trend analysis to capture software/hardware faults.
  • Work to improve APG-79 troubleshooting techniques.
  • Provide day-to-day technicalsupportand work theneededshifts to meet the squadron maintenance schedules.
  • Report all technical activity and participate in BIT evaluation teleconferences weekly.
  • Represent Raytheon to externalcustomersin both CONUS and OCONUS locations asneeded.
  • Collaboratewith government agencies and other contractors to maintain goodcommunicationinsupportof APG-79 radar.

Basic Qualifications


  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s and a minimum of 5yearsprior relevant experience; or an Advance Degree in a related field and a minimum of 3years’ experience. Additionalyearsof experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience with analyzing faults and overseeing the troubleshooting and maintenance of the F/A-18 APG-79 AESA or similar radar systems.
  • Experience with airborne fire control and reconnaissance RADAR systems.
  • Experience working with flight schedules and operational requirements.
  • Activeand transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance isrequiredprior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship isrequired, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience as a field representative insupportof US Navy systems.
  • Experience working OCONUS.
  • Prior field experience and / or military service (e.g., Navy MOS AT Aviation Electronics Technician).
  • Self-motivated and be able to perform with limited supervision.
  • Excellentwritten and oralcommunication skillsand ability to complete comprehensive and accurate reports.
  • Ability tointeractwith militarycustomerand other contractor/government personnel in adiverseteam setting.

Special Work Circumstances


  • Potentially working in a hazardous area (e.g., aircraft carrier environment) while providing APG-79 Radar technical support).
  • Operations in hazardous avionics areas, supporting active squadron.

Employment is contingent upon meeting all medical requirements for overseas assignment including comprehensive post-offer medical examination.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
